Do Not Risk It — Pay a Bit More and Stay Somewhere Better in Florence||||We made the mistake of choosing this hotel to save money since Florence was not our main stop, but it wasn’t worth it. Make sure to select your accommodation wisely when staying in Florence.||||Upon arrival, we were given a room in the second wing of the building — essentially the backside — with a depressing view of plain brick walls. The room reeked of fried onions, seemingly coming from outside. When I brought this up with the receptionist, she appeared genuinely surprised, as if this had never happened before. She did try to assist (thanks to her), but it seemed like management limited her to just offering us some air freshener sprays and sending us on our way.||||I politely asked if we could switch rooms or come to a mutual agreement to cancel the booking. Eventually, we were reassigned to Room 207.||||Unfortunately, the new room was still a major disappointment:||||Room condition: Tiny, dirty, and poorly maintained — honestly, it felt depressing to be in.||||Cleanliness: Stained blankets, dirty walls, and overall lack of hygiene.||||Facilities:||||- A/C was leaking water.||||- Windows didn’t close properly.||||- The shower and fridge were both uncomfortably small.||||- The toilet fan had to be turned off in a very specific way, or it would keep making noise.||||- Hot water lasted only a few seconds.||||- Noisy streets and no sounds/noise proof.||||The nightstand light (right side of the bed) was broken — and later, water from the A/C started leaking onto it.||||Chair fabric was very, very worn and dirty.||||The door frame was broken and poorly repaired.||||The one and only positive was the location — it was perfect for us and within walking distance of all the major sights we wanted to visit.||||Overall, aside from the location, there is nothing good or even decent about this hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is wonderful, really close to the train, markets and attractions you would want to see. The service was great as well, able to leave your bags on check out day and collect them at an arranged time which was super convenient.||||The bed wasn't that comfortable and the shower pressure wasn't great. The walls are also pretty thin and the people staying next to us were super loud which is totally not the places problem but if you're a light sleeper it's not ideal. ||||If you're not too concerned about the room or won't be spending much time in there then the location really is hard to beat.
