For weeks I was scouring a multitude of travel sites for reasonably priced accommodation in the city center of Rome. I had almost given up when Casa de Fiori popped up one day in my search. What a great find and fabulous location! We reserved a triple room, which was just perfect for me, my husband, and our college-age son. Our room was unfussy but comfortable, with soaring ceilings and a great view of Piazza Biscione. And although the bathroom was a bit on the small side, it was immaculate. The room also has an air conditioner, which kept the room cool and dry. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating - they helped us make a taxi reservation back to Fiumicino and even went to the restaurant downstairs to borrow some spoons for us to eat our yogurt. And did I mention the location? So close to Trastevere, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Foro Romano, etc. The room doesn't include breakfast, but it's oh so easy to pop downstairs to the bar for a quick cappuccino and croissant (turn right as you exit the front door) and grab some fresh fruit from the market in Campo de Fiori to bring back to your room. We kept fresh strawberries in our fridge at all times. Spend some time strolling around Campo de Fiori in the morning, but bypass all the same ticky-tacky foodstuffs and head straight to the cheesemongers who are happy to give you a sample. If you're still hungry, pop into Forno for a slice of pizza (they will adjust the size to your liking, so ask for a taglio piccolo and try two varieties instead of just one). For a great dinner (and at a 20% discount), go to Verso Sera downstairs (turn left as you exit the front door). The service is friendly and the food is great for the price. During your stay, make sure you visit Il Passetto del Biscione, one of the city's hidden gems dating back to Roman times. We will definitely return to Casa de Fiori on our next...
Read moreCasa De’ Fiori is a hidden gem in the heart of Rome. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city, and we’ll definitely stay again.||ROOM – We stayed in the Superior Quadruple Room as a family of four, and it was spacious and charming, with shuttered windows overlooking the piazza below. Despite the restaurants staying open late, we couldn’t hear any noise once the shutters were closed. Our room was next to the communal kitchen/lounge area, which felt like an extended living space—ideal for making tea and keeping the kids entertained with games like chess.||LOCATION – The hotel is within walking distance of major attractions including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and Vatican. It's situated in a picturesque little piazza beside a bustling market. We truly loved this corner of Rome—it had everything we needed, yet it didn’t feel overly touristy.||There’s a small Carrefour supermarket just 30 seconds from the hotel, and a restaurant below offering a 20% discount for hotel guests. It served the best pasta dish I’ve ever had: homemade tagliatelle with goat’s cheese and artichokes! The square nearby had plenty of other restaurants with pizza, pasta, seafood, and more, and we enjoyed relaxing while our 11- and 12-year-old children played safely within view.||PRACTICAL NOTES – As mentioned on the website, there’s no lift. Since we were on the second floor, we packed light and brought bags we could carry up the stairs. While the hotel doesn’t offer luggage storage after checkout, there’s a facility just 2 minutes away where we stored our bags for around €14 (for 4 hours). The reception is on the first floor, and the staff were friendly and helpful.||Thank you, Casa De’ Fiori—we look forward to returning...
Read moreAvoid at any case! They gave us the room where they serve breakfast since 6am: cups, plates, noize, at 7am first guests arrived and start speaking loudly exactly near the door. MULTIPLE attempts to change the room failed, hotel staff is preteneding that they are fully booked even though people are obvious leaving and coming, even in their management system it is visible. TOTALLY clueless reception, arrogant manager not willing to solve anything as well. We had to leave after first night when booked for 5 nights. REFUSING TO GIVE REFUND, STOLEN TOURIST TAX. Tourist tax charged at first day - refused to give it back, refused to return the receipt, refused to give refund for 4 more night booked in advance. Typical parasits trying to squezee money out of tourists and benefit their location, no clue about customer service or common sense. TOTAL SCAM, AVOID at any case.
Update: Look at how ugly their manager responses trying to blame me in all the sins and lying about the time of breakfast even. Parasytes, real parasytes with no common sense and any knowledge about customer service. Such a shame to get into such cheap villagers running a hotel in a beautiful city of Rome. The stolen tourist tax worth 30 eur is the price of...
