Awesome place to visit when in the Campo de Fiori square. This hugely popular gelato and chocolate store is a great place for an awesome treat anytime of day. There’s even cool artwork with the Madonna enjoying this treat located behind the counter.
My wife and I swung by here on a warm Summer's eve. I had a medium sized gelato with 2 scoops. The first being one of my favorites, Stracciatella, which is Fior di Latte and dark chocolate. The second flavor was a new one to me called Marave. The Marave flavor is mascarpone. My wife had a small tiramisu. Both were super delicious and reasonably priced. There was a medium sized line here but it moved quickly as the employees were working nonstop and efficiently.
Marave has a large selection of gelato flavors and it seems to be the most popular item although the others desserts looked equally inviting!
I loved my gelato and tried my wife's tiramisu which was delicious as well. I recommend Marave's whenever you can find...
Read moreTen days in Italy and twelve gelato shops later, Maravè is on the top of the list🏆 THE BEST‼️ Creative, creamy, delicious flavors… signature Maravè made with pear cream, pear bits and biscotti crumble; Caramello e Arachidi made with caramel cream, caramel swirl and chunks of candied peanuts; Cioccolato Fondente is divine deep, rich chocolate! Gianduia chocolate, Nutella with crunchy bits!! Many more special hand crafted flavors!!! Maravè was recommended by a local friend, then also by a local vendor in the beautiful open flower market. Once we arrived in the bright, clean, nicely designed shop, we noticed the many awards for the various special flavors. We’re very happy that we made the effort to try Maravè’s superb gelato! And feel fortunate to have been served by the cheery, helpful nephew of the gelato chef! Note: the staff speaks English very well and the signage and pricing are clear and concise. Thank you!...
Read moreMerave Gelateria (Myo) is hands down the most authentic and delicious gelato I’ve had in Italy—and I’ve tried nearly a dozen places during my trip! We ended up going three days in a row because it was just that good. They offer a huge variety of flavors, including an impressive vegan selection that actually tastes amazing (not always easy to find!).
A special shoutout to Muller, who helped us each time we visited. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the flavors, and took the time to share information about the shop. His great service made the experience even better.
If you’re in Rome, do not miss this spot. Honestly, I’d come back to the city just for this authentic gelato. Can’t recommend it...
