Firstly, finding the hotel at night was a nightmare. There is no signage except for a tiny little square which has the street address in size 14 font which fortunately I recognised. I pressed the buzzer and waited. No response for ten minutes. I was getting anxious, stuck there on my own at night with all my luggage. Finally a couple arrived at the building hoping to get a reservation with another hotel in the building. They buzzed and were let in straightaway by their hotel (despite not even having a reservation) so I got into the building this way. The little box with the hotel's name on it had A9 in the corner so I found the 'A' elevator and took it to the top floor but that was only the fifth floor. There was no ninth floor. I tried the buzzer on this floor but no response. I rang the hotel four times but kept getting an answering machine. I left a message. I took the lift back down, intending to try other floors hoping someone could help me but then discovered the lift wouldn't let me out on those floors. So I returned to the ground floor then found out it wouldn't let me out on this floor either. So I was stuck in this glorified baggage lift with my suitcases unless I returned to the top floor. The building had been deserted thus far. I was stranded in the lift deliberating what to do next when a lady passed me on her way out and I called out to her.||||She advised me that the only other floor the lift will only open is floor two (you are supposed to know this HOW?) there are no instructions in the lift in any language. Anyway, this lovely lady, who must be affiliated with the hotel in some way, directed me back to the top floor. She tried ringing the hotel number three or four times but didn't get any answer. She had a key for some reason and let me in. She went from room to room until she found one that was unlocked. ||||My problems were not over in the morning. There was still no-one there and I had to be somewhere so I left my luggage in the reception. I took the key with me (there was no way I was leaving without it after the dramas the night before, I had a flight to catch, and couldn't rely on good luck to let me into the building again). I emailed the hotel and let them know I had left my luggage there, I was taking they key and I would be back.||||While I was attempting to enjoy my day in Rome they rang wanting their money. How was I even supposed to pay them? They weren't there! There were supposed to take the money off my credit card in advance anyway but they claimed there were problems with my credit card. This is strange because the other 18 hotels I have stayed in other the last two months have not had any issues with my credit card. They claimed to have contacted me by phone to check that I was still coming but there are no records on my phone from their number. Then they tried to say they rang from the fax number. I acknowledge that I didn't advise them I was arriving after hours but the punishment has to fit the crime. That was my oversight but they knowingly left a guest standing outside at night with nowhere to go. I hadn't advised them that I wasn't coming. Their attitude when I spoke to them in person was simply, 'it's your own fault' and they showed absolutely no compassion. They didn't even bother sending a email a few days prior to remind guests about reception hours. I've stayed in plenty of other non-24 hour hotels but haven't had this issue. Please don't risk it. I only got into the building and the room due to sheer good luck and that woman who happened to be on her way out. If your flight is delayed and you are unable to contact them in time or if you lose your keys while you are out you might be sleeping...
Read moreI went with my sister and mother. We had a positive first impression by just looking at the room. But this was a lesson learned! Always read the reviews before booking and accommodation. We sadly didn't do this and I have to agree with every bad review this place has. I wanted to list all the good stuff about this room, as it would be a shorter list than the bad stuff. But, nah... people should be aware. ||1. The AC was broken, they told us a guest broke it so yea don't change the setting or don't even touch the things cause its broken. (IT WAS IN THE END OF JULY SO IT WAS FREAKING HOT) ||2. The bathroom smelled like pee, idk we suspect it was the shower curtain and suspect that they don't clean the room and/or the bathrooms after a guest leaves cause it was completely disgusting. The soap dispenser they had in the shower was also filled with fungus. (thankfully, we brought our own toiletries)||3. 80% of the lights in both the room and the bathroom were broken. Only one was working in the bathroom and that was about to fall out lmao what a joke. ||4. The 'plasma' TV they say they have is as big as a laptop screen accompanied with remote controls that doesn't work :)))||5. Our window was broken and when we wanted to notify them they ignored us for a day. Then when they came to see the problem they didn't acknowledge it was broken but said we have to push it very had, be strong and push it very hard so it closes (didn't work)||I have more things to mention, but its just toooo much. Just don't go there! ||The place is situated in the city center, super good location but there are a lot of hotels/hostels who are also near...
Read moreThis is not even a "real" hotel, like you would think when booking it on Expedia. Got there, couldn't even find it... There is no sign... ends up it's like 4-5 rooms and a tiny hallway on the fifth floor of a building. A man gave me the key: it's basically a stick with a square. Surprised, I asked him if it was different for all rooms, he said yes... Went in my room, changed and then decided to try the other rooms to reassure myself... Well my key unlocked all of them! I could enter all the other guests' rooms. So I wanted to speak to the man, but he was already gone!! (He had told me he would be there until 9 p.m.) As a young single woman traveller, I felt really unsafe so I took my bag and left. I don't have a phone here in Italy so I messaged my mom in Canada to ask her to call Expedia for me, and we were told they wouldn't grant us a refund. Unbelievable....
