Okay place. A little above average on some things and a little below on others. 5 of us went and I tasted everything. The Caprese di bufala app we shared was excellent with really good focaccia and I had a lovely beer on tap before that. We had 5 pasta dishes with some mixed results. Mine was the strangest, the Carbonara. It was sweet. The others were typical and fine (I tasted them all), Spaghetti cacio e pepe (nice amount of pepper), Ravioli al funghi porcini con tartujo (rich, creamy and very filling), Rigatoni all'amatriciana (as expected), and the winner was Gnocchi ai 4 formaggi (well rounded sauce and truly light and fluffy gnocchi. Tiramisu was good but the panna cotta is worth a miss (uninspired and the red berry sauce tasted like it was made with corn syrup). They forgot my green salad but also didn’t charge me for it. We left for under €29 a person (which included taking a pasta dishes home for a 6th person we left at home too jet lagged to come). The wait staff was attentive and nice. The atmosphere was quite pleasant but we were on the early side for dinner so it did get nicer as the place filled up more by the time we left. It is also on a very pretty piazza. Solid neighborhood place for dinner if you are staying near the station but don’t otherwise go out of your way.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. From start to finish, everything about this restaurant was top-notch. First and foremost, the food was incredible. I ordered the seafood pasta, which was recommended by the server, and it did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the seafood was fresh and flavorful. The sauce was so good that I wanted to lick the plate clean! But what really stood out to me was the service. Every member of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was perfect. The server was attentive and made great recommendations, and the manager even came over to check on us and make sure everything was to our liking. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great - it was elegant and sophisticated, yet still welcoming and comfortable. In conclusion, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food was incredible, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was perfect. Whether you're looking for a special occasion spot or just a great place to have a delicious meal, this restaurant should definitely be at the top of your list

My first visit to this restaurant was years ago during my wife’s first trip to Italy. We sat by the window, gazing at Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, enjoying our first dinner date in the country together. It instantly became our favorite spot. Now, owning a place here and traveling between the States, we still dine here multiple times a week. We feel like locals. To American tourists asking, “Is it a tourist restaurant?” Yes, it is. Does that mean the food is subpar? Absolutely not. Not all tourist spots are rip-offs or low quality—ignore the social media noise. I could go on about the consistently incredible food and how we’ve never had a bad meal, but you need to experience it yourself. Great food alone isn’t enough if the vibe, staff, and atmosphere fall short, but this place excels in all. The staff here is exceptional—Khaled (not DJ Khaled), the ever-smiling Mila and Julia, and the always helpful and witty Irina make every visit unforgettable. Can't forget Renato (thanks for getting 6 of us in 30 min before closing) All in all.. On your visit to the Basilica walk over to Casa Maria, meet the staff, have some amazing wine and food, enjoy the times.. Let them know the Texans Dennis & Kimberly sent ya

I was charged twice and had to argue to get my money back. The food and the view was good.

At 14:33, I paid using a white POS terminal, and my bank confirmed the transaction (visible in my SMS balance). The terminal also displayed a checkmark, but the waitress insisted the payment failed and asked me to try again with a different POS. At 14:35, I paid again, yet the first charge was never refunded.

When I asked for a rejection receipt, they sent me an Italian receipt, which I translated—it clearly stated the first payment was successful. I approached the manager, explained the situation, and showed proof. Instead of addressing the issue, she dismissed my concerns, claiming:

– The first terminal doesn’t hold money (even though my transaction was there). – The first POS was for credit cards, and I paid with a debit card, so the receipt was somehow invalid. – The bank would automatically reject the first transaction (which never happened).

She repeatedly told me to "relax" and come back tomorrow, even after I explained that I was flying out that day. When I kept questioning, she became defensive and unpolite, suggesting that maybe banks work not normal in my country. Eventually, she insist to gave me cash as a refund, refusing to exchange personal details or IBANs for proper verification (I suggest to send them money bank if I was wrong). She even implied I was getting a "free lunch" and needed a "lesson" on how banks work abroad to not to make the problem next time I want to travel abroad.

After returning home, I confirmed with my bank that both payments were successfully processed—no rejections, no refunds, so there is no "free lunch" and I paid what I should paid and could have paid twice actually.

Mistakes happen, but the way they handled the situation was completely unprofessional. Instead of calmly resolving the issue, they escalated unnecessary drama.

For the restaurant staff: I could email you back all receipts, bank statements, transactions if you want and...
