Hotel Lella — Hotel in Rome

I was 6 nights in the hotel. For 3 days i had no wifi. And I never had phone, no air conditioning, no heating, sometimes no hot water and of course no complaint forms!!||Twice i went to reception but there was nobody.||All this is included in the price and written in documents I have screenshot.||To make matters worse, when i got to the hotel i was extremely tired and carrying a heavy rucksack, the boy at reception did not have change and asked me to go outside and find some. I did although i didn't know the area and it was dark, and i was tired and carrying my stuff. He said he could not give me a receipt for my paying the touristic tax, but that i was obliged to pay it before having the key. I paid and went upstairs to my room on the 3rd floor but the door did not open, so again downstairs with my things and up, next i had no wifi and went down again to ask, the boy said it was a problem with my phone, i had no convince him to come to the room and he witnessed what i said was true, i showed my phone and he also used his. Apologies but no solution, nor discount.||He said nobody would enter my room but before my last night somebody came and took out a pillow, a towel and a bedspread. They didn't clean the room but they closed the window, which i had left open for refreshment, since there is always a bad smell at the entrance. When i went to reception there was a man who said it was not him and told me not no bother him.|Apart from that, some things were broken, some others dirty, some both.|I could never contact the owner or the person in charge of the hotel because they said they didn't know when this person...

I stayed ar this place and just returned yesterday. Overall it is a place I can stay again.

The location is good. It is around 15 - 20 mins. walking distance to Roma Termini train station. There is also a grocery store nearby (Conad) if you need to buy things.

The area is very safe because the hotel is located in diplomatic district. It is next to Turkish, U.K. and Qatar embassies.

It is not too far from main touristic areas if you are walking to everywhere like me. Google maps can give an idea in that. Public transport (ATAC) is there and probably convenient but I never used it.

Two things I was not happy are: 1) lack of some items in room and 2) city tax.

The room had no carpet. They could at least have something cheap or provide those cheap disposable slippers. They didn’t have soap or shampoo that hotels provide for shower. I was surprised that they had given towels! So you gotta be prepared for these before heading this place.

Second thing is I booked and paid on Agoda and my payment clearly said all taxes included. When I arrived they charged €5 per day (a total of €20) city tax. I was not expecting this and caught unprepared. It was a blow for my travel plans because I was on a thight budget and €20 is serious amount to me. I was not happy with this double taxation. I was either mislead by Agoda or tricked by hotel.

Overall it is a place you can stay again if they go over...

People really over exaggerate with the bad reviews , I am currently here with my little son and there is nothing wrong the the hotel for the price ,you are less than 15 minutes walk to termini station,within walking distance to most of the attractions ,shop just down the road , The floors in room are kept clean nice shine off the tiles , My son loved the elevator it's unique he calls it hotel of bam bam one of his favourite characters, staff are nice ,you're getting a very good deal in my opinion,the location is central ,quiet hotel not much noise. People really are too fussy I did not know what to expect after seeing some of the reviews but it's nothing like the reviews make out , Good hotel with a good location for the price. There is a hair dryer and hot water , I wasn't charged extra for extra towels like some people said ,there was extra towels left on my bed with new bedding when we came back from Pompeii,after my son spilled milk on the bed. I would recommend this hotel because there is absolutely nothing wrong with it for the price and location. We are on the second floor and my son is using the wifi for his video games on the phone since we got here , so no problem with the wifi from...
