La Residenza Guesthouse — Hotel in Rome

I recently stayed at a property that had both its ups and downs. First and foremost, the location was fantastic. Just a short walk from the Colosseum and surrounded by a selection of charming cafes and shops, it was perfect for exploring the city on foot.

However, I encountered several issues during my stay that detracted from the overall experience. One major downside was the lack of sound insulation in the room. I could easily hear people entering and exiting their rooms, as well as noises from adjacent units. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet at times.

Additionally, I was disappointed to find that the WiFi information was not provided in the room. This made it inconvenient to connect my devices without having to ask for the details, later the person in charged asked if we needed it, so do ask for it in advance!

The bathroom also left a bit to be desired. The shower head barely had any water pressure, making it a frustrating experience to shower in the small shower area.

On the positive side, the room itself was quite spacious, giving me plenty of room to move around and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. The person in charge was friendly and accommodating, which added a nice touch to my stay.

In conclusion, while the location and size of the room were highlights of my visit, the noise issues and lack of amenities like WiFi information and a functional shower left room for improvement. Nightmare experience. The bald man that works the front desk, not sure if he is the owner or not was rude the 99% of the time. The only time we were not met with rudeness was when he had fellow coworkers were around. Some of the worst service and hospitality we have ever encountered from him. The rest of the staff were always nice, polite, and actually had normal conversations with us.

When we arrived we were told by this Howie Mandel look alike no rooms were available at all, then after using the restroom we were informed one all of a sudden was available on the first floor (it was already cleaned and ready for someone to stay in but for some reason he did not want us to check in when we arrived).

Another thing that happened almost every time we left the hotel people were going into our room. However, nobody would ever inform us, ask if it was okay to do so, or even let us know that they were in there when we got back to the hotel.

Also would like to add that the rooms are not as advertised, nothing is as what you see in the pictures. It's a sham. It's a rundown hotel.

Massimo, il proprietario del Guesthouse, è una persona scquisita! Ho aiutato a organizzare un’alloggio e il transfer a un gruppo di amici anziani stranieri venuti a Roma per le vacanze. Il loro arrivo dall’aeroporto è stato ritardato diverse volte per via dei ritardi della compagnia aerea. Massimo è stato sempre presente, siamo stati in contatto per telefono tutto il tempo. Era molto gentile, rassicurante e paziente, li ha aspettati per il check-in per qualche ora senza problemi e senza dirmi niente. Finalmente quando sono arrivati in guethouse lui e sua mogle li hanno accolti molto bene, praticamente li ha coccolatti capendo tutto lo stress che hanno vissuto. I miei amici mi hanno detto che le camere sono semplici, ma molto pulite, ben organizzate e accoglienti. Siccome la prenotazione era fatta tramite booking che non è riuscito a prelevare il pagamento dalla mia carta (non ho capito per quale motivo), e visto che non mi potevo spostare dal lavoro Massimo è venuto da me in persona senza nessun lamento, e portandomi la ricevuta.

Quello che posso dire della «Residenza city» che il prezzo è molto onesto! E sinceramente neanche ho capito tutte queste recensioni negative. Considerando la nostra esperienza, le situazioni descritte sembrano impossibili con una persona come Massimo. La gentilezza e l’attenzione verso i sui clienti non ha prezzo!
