With the unique design aesthetic and lack of reviews, my wife and I were debating booking this hotel vs. any of the other usual 5 star brand name suspects in Rome. We are sooo happy we decided on Palazzo Talia. Pardon the long review but it is well deserved. Yes the hotel is new and therefore working out a few minor details on the edges but that is more than made up for by what is a true 5 out of 5 star experience. The stay: We booked a jr. suite on the 1st floor. The corridor walk to the room feels more like walking down a private museum tour rather than walking through hotel halls. A wow, I can't believe this is a walk to our room type experience. Then the rooms! First off they are HUGE. 20 foot tall ceilings, 10 foot tall windows, 10 feet on either side of the king sized bed. Secondly, they are decorated beautifully. What may look a little too art deco on the website, looks stunning in person. The bed was superb, huge walk in closet and the accessories intelligent. (Example: A separate, large table next to the double sinks for my wife's makeup.) The service: 11 out of 10. I can give you countless examples of over and above service. It was my wife's and I's anniversary. We received a hand written card... Not one of those "we leave a card, so here are 20 words I write to every guest" cards but something thoughtful, along with an invitation to dinner and a complementary bottle of wine with dinner AND a bottle of champagne and desert waiting in our room when we arrived. Turn down service isn't just we put a chocolate on your bed but instead every little detail is thought through. The front desk service was kind, relaxed but detailed and never unnecessarily stuffy. Just thoughtful. Housekeeping: Kudos to whomever is running this team. Best we've experienced. A small example: Every charging cord you own will be coiled perfectly when you arrive home. The location: You are literally 3 minutes to the spanish steps, 2 minutes to trevi fountain but completely isolated. In their center court oasis, you are almost totally isolated from the noise and crowds. When you walk out, you'll walk into the heart of Rome and sometimes there will be a pack of tourists taking a photo of the entrance to the hotel. We've stayed at some beautiful hotels. Palazzo Talia deserves the inevitable accolades it will collect. It has thought long and hard about what guests want, delivered on that experience. Don't think twice.

Our three night stay at Palazzo Talìa was one of the very best hotel experiences we have had in the world. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt like stepping into a living work of art which incorporates a seamless blend of heritage and modern sophistication. We stayed in a suite adorned with original 16th century frescoes above the master bed, a detail so breathtaking it felt like waking up in a museum of Italian beauty. Every element of our stay reflected quiet luxury and thoughtful design. Mornings began with an exquisite breakfast which included freshly baked pastries, artisanal cheeses, and perfect cappuccinos served in a serene atmosphere. The staff were genuinely warm, gracious, and intuitive, anticipating every need with effortless charm. Palazzo Talìa is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. It’s a destination worth going out of your way for; an intimate sanctuary in the heart of Rome where history, elegance, and hospitality meet in perfect harmony.

We had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Talia. From the moment we checked in, we felt completely at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the rooms were absolutely divine. We chose the Terrace Suite, and it was well worth it — the spacious balcony was a real highlight. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the Trevi Fountain, yet the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. The complimentary pool and sauna added a lovely touch of relaxation to our stay. The bar is stunning, and the included breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options. Highly recommend!

We are absolutely thrilled that we chose to stay at Palazzo Talia. It has truly been one of the most exceptional hotel experiences we've ever had. The property itself is nothing short of breathtaking, combining timeless elegance with modern comfort, but what truly sets it apart is the warmth and attentiveness of the entire staff. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. Luna greeted us so graciously and continued to go above and beyond throughout our stay. She was always warm, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. Elton was also incredibly sweet and proactive, even helping us secure a highly sought-after reservation, for which we are so grateful.

Despite what we’re sure is a demanding schedule, Ginevra, who we believe is the operations manager, took the time to personally check in with us, ensuring everything was perfect. That level of care does not go unnoticed. We’d also like to thank Nina (hopefully we’ve spelled her name correctly!) from the kitchen, who was consistently attentive and kind, adding to the overall sense of hospitality that defines Palazzo Talia.

The rooms are stunning: spacious, beautifully designed, and each with its own distinctive charm. Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a generous selection of options to suit every taste. The location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from iconic sites like the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. And yet, despite being in the heart of Rome, the hotel feels like a serene, luxurious retreat — a true oasis from the bustle of the city.

We cannot recommend Palazzo Talia highly enough. It exceeded every expectation, and we are so grateful to the entire team for making our stay feel so special. 1000/10. We absolutely...

Absolutely Disgraceful – A Complete Scam Disguised as a Luxury Hotel

I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience with this so-called 5* hotel was so appalling that I feel obligated to warn others.

I booked a 35 sqm room well in advance and personally called the hotel to confirm all the details of our stay, especially concerning our two small children. I was reassured during the call that everything was fine and there would be no issue whatsoever with having our kids in the same room. Based on that confirmation, I proceeded with the reservation in good faith.

Now, just days before check-in, I receive a message from the hotel stating that I can no longer stay in that room with two children. They are now demanding I pay a significant surcharge to upgrade to a suite – something that was never mentioned before. The reason? They claim there’s a “law in Italy” forbidding children in rooms of this size – a law that does not exist. It’s a blatant lie.

To make matters worse, other truly five-star luxury hotels in Italy have never had any issue with the exact same arrangement. This is nothing but a transparent money grab.

And the timing couldn’t be more disgusting. This all happened during the mourning period for the death of Pope Francis – a moment of grief for many. The hotel clearly saw an opportunity: they re-listed the exact same room online for double the price after trying to force me into an upgrade. It’s shameful and predatory behavior.

This hotel is dishonest, unethical, and completely unworthy of its 5* rating. If you’re looking for real luxury, transparency, and respect for your guests – look elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels in Italy with integrity.

Do not book here. You will...
