Lovely modern style 14 roomed mid-range hotel, great location to the majority of Romes sight seeing attractions, with friendly and helpful staff. I stayed for 5 nights with my girlfriend in March and was aware of the negative reviews posted on TripAdvisor. ||||However, on arrival for our first night at the Opera Hotel my mind was full of scepticism which was soon relieved after being greeted by staff and led to our room. The room we had was no.514, en-suite bathroom with the outdoor terrace. Very spacious with a good sized double bed, thermostat with A/C, wardrobe with built in safe, drawers, fridge and very big shower/wet area. ||||Breakfast was OK in the morning, this was 3 choices of cereal (coco pops, Granola with chocolate pieces, cornflakes) Various croissants, tea/green tea, any type of coffee, orange juice, water, 1 type of ham 2 types of cheese, boiled eggs, various cakes (maybe an Italian style thing?) bread and toaster, jams, honey, Nutella etc. Not many hotels accommodate breakfast within Rome for a reasonable price so this was above average!||||The only negatives I would have of this Hotel are two things; No tea making facilities within your room and that the house keeping didn't sweep or hoover the floor during our stay. But then we spent such little time in the room it didn't really bother us. Besides this I would recommend and book again if I visited Rome.||||We got the airport shuttle bus from Terminal 3 at the airport to Rome Termini opposite the Best Western hotel in Rome, this took approx 55 minutes and only cost us £17 return for 2 of us off the EasyJet flight including the coach timetable. This was then a 10 minute walk to the Hotel Opera. A taxi would of been in the region €50 as the distance is 19 miles. We felt fairly safe in Rome, every corner or street we were on you would pass a military presence or multiple police patrolling....
Read moreThis was our second stay in this hotel and if we're back in Rome we'll definitely choose it again. The staff are incredible, professional, polite and cater to your every need. The rooms are spacious and spotless clean. Area of hotel is close to main attractions and metro stations, one of them being the main Termini station. Hotel is situated in a safe neighborhood, making it ideal and more pleasurable for us. The breakfast is good, plentiful and nice variety. Fresh pastries like croissants daily, with good coffee as well (eg freshly made capuccino). The cherry on the cake was our last day, when we left luggage at reception, but forgot my important refrigerated medicine in our room, but found it waiting for us with our luggage at the reception. Five...
