Casa Pantone — Hotel in Sorrento

Casa Pantone is located in a gated apartment building just across the street from the train station. The location is very convenient, but the setup is a little awkward. ||There is no reception, and when you first arrive, you need to call the owner's cell upon arrival to get access to the building. Afterward, you can use the keys to come and go as you please. There are also no on-site facilities. Guests can use the pool at the Hotel Grand Flora about a 10 minute walk away, and that hotel's buffet breakfast is also included in the Casa Pantone rate. The breakfast is pretty average for Italy.||The rooms at Casa Pantone are white and modern. Ours had no view to speak of (looked out toward another building and a residential area) but was comfortably large. The rooms are cleaned daily. The building felt very safe.||Parking is available at the apartment building for an additional daily fee.||Casa Pantone is not a typical hotel and feels more like an AirB&B or service apartment (without a kitchen). The hotel has several rooms but no communal sitting or gathering area. If you're looking for a place with onsite amenities such as reception, room service, pool, etc. then you will not like this hotel. But if you want a place that feels more private than a large hotel and don't mind the lack of services or view, then it's a decent choice...

A great find very close to the central station and bus drop-off point, but quiet and very convenient for the city and local amenities. I stayed in the orange room, which was clean, stylish, modern and spacious. A very helpful manager Marino (I believe the rooms are owned and run by a large local hotel) who organised some excursions for me too. Breakfast and other facilities are available at the hotel Flora, and included in the price, but not being a morning person I generally coped without by stocking the mini fridge with a few bits from the supermarket around the corner. A very small coffee-kettle is provided, but this is not suited to tea drinkers requiring boiling water so could be improved. Although the hotel was good value and the rooms very nice and clean it was let down by the check in and location service. After locating the street we had to wait some time (30mins+) for someone to meet us there to let us in. Be prepared to wait and stay in contact to speed...
