Visited the restaurant on Thursday - 28th of July, 2022, during a business visit in Italy. Photos and reviews seemed reassuring. We were seated outdoors hoping to enjoy some fresh air since there is no ventilation indoors. Sadly - even outdoors it was incredibly hot, the restaurant doesn't seem to consider even putting fans to allow some air movement - this although the location of it is between buildings where there's practically no air movement during noon/early afternoon. I came inside and asked the staff if I could use a socket to charge my mobile phone with my charger. Apparently there was 'not even one' available socket indoors. As a result one of the waiters grabbed my phone and charger, and without asking me, took it and tried to plug it to a socket that was placed about 2 meters above the ground within the big parasol shadowing the outdoors of the restaurant. As I was calling the waiter trying to ask him not to do so since it all looks unsafe - my phone dropped from above and fell on the floor! As a result - my phone screen (only bought a month ago) got chipped and my charger broke, and still doesn't work (falls of the phone when plugged). As I mentioned a few times what happened to the waiter he later on apologized twice. Another one of the stuff (maybe superior) also approached us and I mentioned this again to him too, he did not take any responsibility and replied to me: "Well it wasn't me". The restaurant or it's employees did nothing serious to compensate me for this damage. As a service giver for many years - I can tell when the service is really bad. It was really bad. I highly recommend against visiting this restaurant and I will also make it a point to write this review in other platforms so future visitors are aware and can refrain from visiting it. Food was ok, not amazing, just ok. This place does not deserve 4-5 star...
Read morePizza with a side of arrogance and ignorance. Food: 5/5. Location: 5/5. Service: could have been better. Everything was great until we paid the check. We had a 34.5 € bill which contained a 4 € service charge. Since we were about to leave Venice by plane, we gave them 54.5 € so we can get rid of all the coins and get 20 € change. That did not happen. They initially gave us a fistfull of coins that amounted to 3.9 € and 15 € in bills. 1.1 € short. We explained to them repeatedly that we want 20 back. A lady that struggles at math kept explaining to us in Italian that we got the right change back. After a while an older gentleman comes from the back, does the math and gives us another euro. This was extremely frustrating since now I had a fistfull of coins and I couldn't change them to a 5 € bill because we were still missing 10 cents. Plus their tone was hostile and the whole conversation was aggressive from their side. While we were getting dressed they asked us if we were Romanians. And when we answered Romanian they started laughing. Instead of an apology for the mistake they made. Venice is full of great people, wonderful hosts. Just not at that tavern. Some simple math, English & hospitality classes could...
Read moreThe first waiter we had was rude and inattentive. We asked for straws and were yet to receive them, to the point we had to get up and get them. Our next waiter was a lot more friendly, overly friendly however his behaviour soon became concerning. My friend (who is visibly underage) asked for the bill to which the second waiter kissed her on the cheek unprovoked. Not a typical Italian two kisses, it was a sloppy uncomfortable kiss. Then as we were leaving, the first waiter was smoking and asked another one of my friends (also visibly a minor) where she was going and what her name was. To which she replied with her name and that she was returning to her hotel. He then asked if she wanted a drink with him, she replied no sorry I can’t drink. He said it’s fine. This was completely disgusting behaviour from a waiter and also a manger. Despite this, the food was above average, the highlight being truffle risotto. Keep your ladies safe...
