I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet but the noise from outside is quite noticeable inside the rooms. I checked in at 7 PM and was greeted by friendly staff who assisted me with check-in and escorted me to my room. My original room was 301 a junior suite that I booked for 280 dollars. Located at the end of the hallway it seemed more exposed to external noise due to its position near an outer wall. Upon entering the room it was clean and well maintained. However as soon as I settled in I immediately noticed the sound of cars passing by and even pedestrians talking on the street. At first I assumed the noise was limited to the seating area but once I layed down on the bed it became clear that the issue extended to that area as well. The sounds of traffic including vehicles with loud exhausts and trucks were clearly audible making it difficult to ignore. Please check the videos attached. Hear the noise for yourself. Recognizing this as a potential problem for my stay I contacted the front desk to see if there was any way to address the noise. Initially I was told the hotel was fully booked and no other rooms were available. However when I called again to ask if anything could be done they offered to move me to another room. I was given the key to room 401. This room had a different layout with the glass window positioned right above the head of the bed rather than to the side near the sofa. Unfortunately the noise issue was even worse in this room. Every time a vehicle passed by I realized I would not be able to sleep if any particularly loud cars or trucks went by during the night. At that point I decided to book a different hotel. When I went to check out the staff immediately informed me that there were no refunds when I didn’t even ask (which made me suspect if others asked for it because of the noise problem…). I had not expected one so I acknowledged it and let them know that I planned to write an honest review. While 280 dollars may be a small amount to some for others it is a significant price to pay for a night’s stay. Ultimately I moved to a more affordable hotel and was glad I did as it was much quieter. While the staff was courteous I believe potential guests should be aware of the noise issue before booking as it could significantly impact their experience especially for light sleepers.

Coming from the hustle and bustle from Tokyo and to Kyoto this newly built apartment complex is great. We visited in late March 2025. So close to everything i.e. public transport, Kyoto Tower, restaurants, cafés, shopping and bike hires. Considering its on busy road, it may get a little noisey in peak times, but the stay and atmosphere was great! Nosie wasn't even a bother, nothing compared to the type of noise you get in Phuket. My partner and I stayed with our one year old and amenities/utilies that our room had was super handy. Our bathroom was so modern and high tech, I loved it! I would definitely recommend staying here!

The rooms are very new and nice. I liked the other MONday hotel we stayed at, but this one was slightly better. The wood ceilings had a pleasant atmosphere and there was a Nespresso machine in our unit. Service has been great Location wise it was a short walk from the station. In the 100° heat we took the bus and it was only two stops away, dropping us off close by (see picture)

We (family of four - Couple with 2 kids (10 and 15 yrs) stayed for 7 nights in May 2025 at Monday Chain Kyoto station Kamogawa.

Location: Very good, close to Kyoto station and walkable distance from local train and bus stations

Stay: It was a wonderful stay. Our initial room was a little small but after spending some nights in the small room, we upgraded to the suite room for an additional cost but it was worth the same. Highly recommend that people with family choose the largest room as rooms in Japan can be on the smaller side . We stayed on the 7th floor. Initially from some reviews, we were skeptical about noise coming from the traffic on road. But our rooms on 7th floor did not have any noise issues .

Service: The staff is exceptionally friendly and they really help you out. Big thanks to San-Nwe who helped us very much before and during the trip.

Others: Must do Miyama Kayabuki trip organised by Monday Hotels. It is an excellent day trip to countryside Japan. Huge Huge shout out to Ryoko and Ishikawa who accompanied us during this day trip to Kayabuki. They were extremely helpful, patient and hospitable. Helped us massively with shopping and sight seeing suggestions and went out of the way to help us.

Would definitely stay at Monday Kyoto...
