Kinkhao — Restaurant in Kyoto

This place is a five star authentic Thai food. I just flew from traveling in Thailand a couple of weeks ago and also took a cooking class from a chef there so I can attest to the authentic taste. The Japenese people are serving the food so I was skeptical but after tasting the curries and Tom yum soup. I told my partner that there is no way it is cooked by a Japanese as the ingredients were too authentic to be followed exactly by an international cook.We were right, met the chef and they are from Bangkok. I am so happy to stumble on this restuarant. This is not a 4 star rating. Sorry! perhaps they don't know what thai food is. The spice level can easily be adjusted and you can ask them to make dishes...

I've been to Thailand once and had Thai food a few times. I think this place is good, and the price isn't too high. We had a pad Thai and a vegan lunch set (90% sure it was vegan, so you better call and check first).

Pad Thai was 1400 and the special lunch was 1900. The portion sizes are not small. My wife couldn't finish hers so I was full by the end (I'm 78cm, healthy weight and average build, and can eat quite a bit in one sitting).

My favorite dish was the yellow curry, and the generous amount of vegetables in the stir-fry was satisfying. We thought the pad Thai was a little sweet but it was good for us with some hot pepper flakes and a lot of lemon...

Hate to do this but the only thing going for this thai food place is the view of the river. My family loves thai food and surrounded by thai restaurants back home in California Tried the green curry, pad thai, and ground beef lunch box sets. Pad thai barely had any sauce and was like eating plain noodles with lemon. Green curry spicy and lacking curry flavors. Ground beef too spicy and dry. Ordered some thai tea with boba which tasted weak and more milky than thai tea. Boba sweet but old. The only item I liked was the tiny sweet bean dessert that came with the lunch box sets. Place needs to work on their food recipe. Food looks better...
