I have really great memories of this hotel, we stayed for 3 nights. First off, it is incredibly convenient to Kyoto station. We rolled off the bullet train and checked-in with ease. And if you have to kill time before check-in, Kyoto station has tons of luggage lockers practically across the street from the hotel. The breakfast was phenomenal, with tons of sashimi, seafood, pickles, and other Japanese and western staples. Straight up some of the best chicken salad I’ve ever had. Even vegetarian options. With such a good breakfast you can start your day off right for temples and shopping streets.
The building and room design is very modern and cozy, although the room was certainly on the small size. Plus our room had nice views of the city and hills beyond. The staff were very welcoming and some spoke English. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I found myself in...
Read moreI liked the minimalist design. The free drink provided was a nice touch after a long day traveling outside. Amenities were plenty but needed to make sure we grabbed those at the lobby prior to going up to our room. I love the wash cloths they provided. They also provided baby shampoo while we were there. You can also borrow umbrellas from them. Breakfast looks good but we didn't have a chance to try. On our last day, we shipped our luggage using Kuroneko at the front desk to our next hotel. The staff are very helpful. However, beware this process takes some time as they would need to fill out paperwork in Japanese, call the hotel to confirm you have a reservation with them prior to shipping and they take only cash. Sounds tedious but rewarding especially when you can enjoy the rest of your day hands free and cover more grounds not having to hunt...
Read moreI had a comfortable stay. The location is the best thing about this hotel, just a very short walk from Kyoto station, Avanti (where there is a DonKi and a floor just for GU), and Aeon mall which has a supermarket and anime and gaming stuff. 7eleven just a minute away, Lawson and Daily Yamazaki nearby as well. If you're heading to the airport it's also near the stop for the limousine bus (at the Keihan in Avanti).
The service was okay, just want to commend the guy with glasses, he was very nice and cheerful. You can borrow a ton of stuff (even a hair curling iron lol). They also accommodated my request for a room on a high floor. The only thing I didn't like was the pillow, it was hard? 🥲 maybe it's a japanese thing, I'm not sure. The receptionist said they only had one. But my head and neck didn't really hurt, I just wish they...
