Henn na Hotel Asakusa Tawarama is an innovative marvel that seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with Japanese hospitality, offering guests a truly unforgettable stay in the heart of Asakusa. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the hotel's sleek and modern facade, hinting at the futuristic experience that awaits within.

A very conveniently located little hotel with solid amenities. The virtual "staff" at check-in are cute, but it's basically just a kiosk. The kiosk has several language options, so don't be discouraged if you can't read or speak Japanese. On your check-in night, you can stop in the small bar in the lobby and get a drink for free(some premium drinks are discounted instead of free). The rooms are compact but efficient and space shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as you think ahead about luggage - I guess you could also use the luggage storage in the lobby, though I think you have to leave it locked up for the duration of your stay if you do that. Amenities are good, with self-service tables on each guest room floor, UFO catchers in the lounge and rooftop floor, and the hotel is built directly on top of a Family Mart, so there's food and beverages available at all times. Our room contained an "LG Styler" clothes steamer and deodorizing spray that helped with freshening clothes up. Coin operated laundry is also available on-site. You can check the status of the laundry machines through the main menu on your room's TV, which is very convenient. The lounge has lots of seating, big trash cans(!), and a library of manga for guests to read while they visit. Rooftop observation deck is nice, but the Tokyo Skytree wasn't as visible as we hoped when we checked it out (not a big deal). You can borrow or rent various equipment, some for personal care and some for recreational use, including Oculus Quest 2 headsets. Breakfast is offered for an additional fee, but I was always in too much of a hurry to try it, so I can't offer an opinion on its quality.

I would be happy to stay at the Henn na Hotel Asakusa...

Stayed for 5 nights in their superior twin room from 10th to 15th August 2024 and was satisfied with the hotel from top to bottom.

Hotel is conveniently located about 6 minutes from Tawaramachi station on the Ginza metro line and 8 minutes from Kuramae station on the Oedo toei line.

Rooms were spacious enough for 2 and we had no trouble opening both our suitcases in our rooms. Showers were excellent and beds were comfy. They only provided 1 pillow per bed but you can request for another if needed. The pillows however, were too soft for my liking. Toothbrushes are provided in room and are not given in the amenities section on each floor. The amenities provided are combs, shavers, pyjamas and q-tips.

There are also many washing machines to do laundry and the status of each of them can be easily checked using the TV in each room. However, do note that the washing machines only accept ¥100 coins and costs ¥800 per wash so if you do not have enough coins, you will have to go down to the check in counters to exchange for coins using the rightmost check in machine.

Did not pay for breakfast since on level 1, there is a family mart and also one right across it. If you are looking for good ramen, there is 麺屋上々 about 300m away! For Japanese set meals/teishoku there is a Yayoi about 3 minutes towards the direction of Tawaramachi station which serves excellent Japanese cuisine!

Overall, we paid about ¥59630 for our stay by booking on their website and were given a Member-only early booking 20% off coupon (Limited to days that are multiples of 3). This hotel is value for money and given its close proximity to public transportation, I will definitely recommend anyone who is...

My mother and I stayed here for a week during our trip in Tokyo. The rooms are a bit small but manageable. The bathroom comes with an all-in-one bathtub and shower. The check in is definitely interesting as many reviews have mentioned. A screen with a dinosaur, a ninja and a samurai greets you on the 2nd floor. The check out process was incredibly quick too, by just returning the card to the machine. I was impressed with the sustainability efforts of this hotel, committing to the 17 UN SDGs! For every floor with rooms, there is an amenity bar that provides simple vanity items like face wash. This serves a very "take what you need" basis which helps reduce waste. Moreover, there is a water refill on level 8 where you can refill the room provided jug or your own water bottles. The breakfast buffet for 2,200/pax was really worth it. The spread has many different types, the other guest were staring at me for the amount of food I took. 😅😅😅 This hotel is extremely convenient as there is a family mart that is directly downstairs of the hotel. There are also restaurants like Yayoi nearby which make a quick meal easy to grab. Tawaramachi station on the Ginza line is only about 5 minutes away, which makes traveling easy. If I had to add anything, we wished there was an extra dustbin in the toilet as that would make things more convenient. I was also not able to change the temperature of the water when using the Japanese toilet. Overall, this hotel was a great place to stay during my vacation in Japan and I would recommend others to book this hotel!

We came from India and stayed here for 4 nights. Asakusa is a very nice area away from the bustle of Tokyo metropolis, but within a short transit from the central Tokyo. Just a 5 min walk from Tawaramachi station on Ginza line, very close to Senso-Ji temple (10 min walk), Sumida Park and Sumida river. A Family Mart just below and 7-Eleven just opposite. Plenty of places to have meals. We loved Yayoiken, a 3 min or so walk. And for shopping binge Don Quixote is a 15 min walk. Check in is contactless, with hotel staff popping in whenever required. Rooms are smallish, but you have to accept coming to Tokyo. Furnishings and toileteries are perfect and the bed is very comfortable. The LG Styler is a very useful addition in the room to freshen the clothes. Washing machines (pay & use) are in multiple foors and the TV in room tells you which ones are empty and how long it'll take others to be empty. Very Japanese indeed. From the roof enjoy a great view of Tokyo Tower at night. Breakfast is fabulous, with Japanese, Continental and Asian food. For someone coming to Japan for the first time you'll surely have a great introduction to tasteful and flavorful Japanese food. The Manga library at the reception area is a great addition to get introduced to Japanese Manga culture. There is also enough baggage storage space. And spotlessly clean, again very Japanese. If we return to Tokyo shall surely love staying here again.

Great hotel in a great location. Very short walk to Tawaramachi station and super convenient having a family mart on the first floor. The rooms were large enough, and everything was comfortable. Like in other Japanese hotels, everything you need is provided for use - pyjama robe, tooth brush/paste, creams, shaver, etc. We thought the LG styler thing in the room was kinda useless, but at least it ironed a few shirts for us. Free drink on check in day, and a hangout room to eat or read in. We were disappointed that the rooftop patio had no chairs or anything to sit on and says no food/drink, so it's kinda pointless. Laundry was ¥800, so on the expensive side. We didn't know Henn na means "weird" in Japanese, so we were confused and amused by the ninja and dinosaurs on check in. Good for a chuckle though.
