This guesthouse is located at the heart of semporna town. It's just walking distance to most of the jetty in semporna (to travel to various islands)

What a nice place to stay! The guesthouse is very clean, and smells good too.. You are required to change to their slippers at the ground floor, and place your own wearables at the shoe rack at the first floor. Probably this is how they kept the whole place so clean.

Room is equipped with a queen size bed, a solid wood shelf, small table with a rattan chair, and a toilet which has water heater and fresh water. Kettle, clothes hangers and hair dryer come as standard in the room. Ironing board and iron are available at the common area. Water pressure was great. Shampoo and bath gel were not provided.

In the kitchen, microwave, toaster and oven are provided. There is a stove outdoor too for people who wants to cook. Breakfast are provided (Do it yourself concept). Several instants noodles, bread, and eggs are provided. There are also peanut butter and jam in the fridge. For people who wants to cook, seasonings are available too.

moving on to the outdoor, this guesthouse has a large size washing machine which guests can use to wash their garments. Hangers are also provided outdoor. But do keep in mind that there is an exhaust outlet of a restaurant right in front. I dried my clothes overnight and my clothes smelled like butter prawns the next day. :(

There is a balcony on the other side, where you can enjoy breakfast or smoke cigarettes there.

The owner is actually friendly, but very seldom you will see him smile. His hotel staffs are very friendly.

came by this place by accident when I needed a reasonably priced room to transition from my late night arrival in Semporna to the islands the next day but unexpectedly feel in love with ‘Jonos Place’. Its not only the great location nearby the waterfront, seafood restaurants, dive shops and piers but also due to the place itself; clean (super important), cosy atmosphere, comfortable, homey, all the appliances available e.g. for cooking, ironing etc, the most electrical outlets I’ve ever seen in a single room (a total of 8, more than enough to go all around for dive coms, cameras, phones and everything and anything that could need charging) + thoughtfully corresponding racks for them to be charged on, friendly owner and staffs, the list could go on and on. While we were there, the place was stocked with coffee, tea, bread + jams, eggs, instant noodles. Our personal favourite (came back with family the next trip and of course came back here to stay) was after a day out in the islands, to sit on the balcony surrounded by plants, having a cup of tea, watching the view of the hustle and bustle of Semporna town go by down below. It's a good idea to book ahead here because it does sometimes fill up, even in off season. However, this doesn't stop it from being wonderfully quiet and clean.
