Fortunately the bathroom was clean despite there being several ball of dust in the bedroom, the smell of the room is literally a mix of cigarettes and mold. It's noisy at nights due to the door to the balcony is not even sealed properly. Don't bother to drink their instant coffee since they are pretty much spoiled, not sure when was the last time they replace it but might as well bring your own if want to. Basement parking was concerning since you can barely turn once you go in, theres literally space for like 5-6 cars only and that include the entrance space to the parking lot which means that high chance you would need to reverse your car out of the basement instead. Tho the most irritating part so far is having their staff entering your room unannounced no knocking, no ringing the bell and just straight up open the door not once, not twice but three times within a one night stay here. I guess privacy is non existent here, if any guests do end up having their belongings missing then they might as well assume that it got stolen at this point. This will be the first and last time I come here, I wouldn't recommend to those who prioritizes their own privacy and security especially women to stay here at all.
As a bonus, when I was checking out from the hotel. The person at the reception counter apologize for the previous inconvenience of their staff entering our room unannounced but then again tried to lie to us saying they did knock on the door yet when I mention that there is a ringing bell that could've been used by them which the doorbell did function well since I try it myself... The person then suddenly changed his story saying from knocking on the door to they did press on the doorbell which they clearly didn't cause I was near the door during that time hanging my clothes when the incident happened. Not only did they not practice the decency of notify the guest when entering their room, they also try to gaslight customers making up stories to put...
Read moreI BEG YOU... DON'T COME HERE!! Lessons I learned.... Get used to reading REVIEWS before booking a hotel. Other people's experiences are a good teacher. Don't let any of your friends experience this again. I stayed for 3 nights / 4 days at Flora By Crossroads Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the conditions I experienced were as follows :
There is no hot water, wifi cannot connect, very minimal lighting in the room there is a small animal on the bed, the condition of the rubbish bin is very bad, there are only 2 small bottles of soap / shampoo and solid soap, and not that I'm racist, but during my stay I didn't see any other workers, it's a small hotel run by a family of Indian descent. Only 1 person is on duty at the hotel.
I lost the room key and changed the fee RM 20 On the second night after returning from the tour, I found that the bath towel which was still neatly folded had 1 strand of hair, I felt something was wrong, I opened the folded bath towel to check, and when the folded towel was opened, there was a small clump of hair, I went down to the receptionist on the ground floor to ask for a change, they promised to send a new towel to the room, and oh my god, the same thing happened again, there was a lot of hair in the folds of the bath towel, I went back down to the receptionist, and it turned out that the first towel was still at the bottom, meaning a lot of the towels were not clean. They argue that they use a third party. That same evening we immediately looked at all the reviews about the Flora by Crossroads hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the results were very disturbing.
Because we felt uncomfortable with the cleanliness of this hotel, we decided to move hotels the next day. I recomend you hotel Royal Signature, near from alor. I hope tourists don't experience this....
Read moreI checked in today to stay here for a few days. Here are some thoughts, might be updated:
Location: top, you are in 20 min walk from all the coolest places, yet the hotel itself is in a quiet corner with a beautiful view.
Exterior: It is obvious that this place isn't new, but it has it's charm. The green wall is magnificent!
Check in: I did an early check in today without pre-booking, circa 9 am, it costed me additional 15 MYR. But it took around 10 minutes from the moment I approached reception to the moment I opened the room with the key. Please note, that since 2023 in all hotels all foreigners must pay a commission of 10 MYR per each night stay, in addition to the price. I wasn't happy about it, but could do nothing.
The room: It is small and as all the building it is not in the perfect shape. Yet the big round window and strategically placed lights dif the job. At first it smelled a bit like an old dump towel, but as soon as I turned the aircon - all smell was gone. The bathroom also not the newest, but in a good shape. My room has tiny fridge with two water bottles, kettle, some coffee and creamer sticks, two mugs, safe and a TV.
Noise isolation: you can hear people in corridor, yet no noise from the rooms. The hotel stands just by a road, but it's not that busy. You can definitely hear cars/bikes passing by, but I was ok with that.
I'll update the review later when have more info about the stay.
UPD: Checking out tomorrow morning. So far so good. One issue to be dealt with: the cleaning. Each room os equipped with the panel with buttons "do not disturb" and "make up the room". If you press it, the indicator in the corridor turns on. I checked, it works perfectly. Unfortunately, it took 1,5 days and two visits of reception to get...
