后街 Back street eatery — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The taste of the foods were unexpectedly yummy. It is definitely “local taste”, suit us very well, we enjoyed the foods very much. The razor clam tang hoon (very good), claypot tang hoon prawn (quite good) the tang hoon texture was nice, maybe lack of some peppery taste to me. Fresh river prawn was fresh and creamy, and very Q. Fried chicken wings tastes just nice, crispy on the outer layer, moist and tender inside. Lamb BBQ stick was fantastic. Kamheong siham big and fat and juicy. Kammheong very fragrant.

Overall I think this is a place I will come back...

I would categorically not recommend anyone to try the atrociously priced and portioned chicken rice here. What you see in the picture is a standard chicken rice serving with the addition of some tofu and and braised egg. It cost RM20++. The taste was terrible, probably one of the worst chicken rice you can get in KLCC and that too at a ridiculous price. Ok fine, the taste is subpar and the pricing is high but even the chicken portion was miserable and masked with more bean sprouts.

We found a new lunch spot at Back Street Eatery at CityWalk. Chicken Claypot Rice - The rice is soft and fluffy with crunchy burnt crust, the way I like it.

Hainanese Chicken Rice - Fragrant rice, moist and tender chicken meat. Adding on Braised Tofu & Braised Egg + Bean sprouts.

Must try the Macau Portuguese Egg Tart & Hainan Toast. And Signature aromatic Backstreet Kopi and refreshing drinks Passion Fruit Soda.
