Place: no clear indication outside the shop saying "The Daily Fix Cafe" except a small sign board stating it's inside another shop. There's a coffee & bakeshop in the front, the actual restaurant is further inside. They have ground and 1st floor dining seats as it's converted from an old British/Portugal/Dutch (heritage) built house in the past. I must say that on the 1st floor, whenever anyone walks, the floor shakes and vibrates. Kinda scary for those who are not used to it. So, no jumping on 1st floor please! Another down side, if you sit upstairs, you'll have to go down all the way to the counter to get your self order. But considering the food here, I'd only say this AFTER EATING, that it's generally worth it. Service: service here is left wanting. upon arriving, without even checking, the waiter told us there'll be a 20 to 30 minute wait. (Nothing wrong with this if you knew your stuff) Well, it proved a wise decision to wait as just 1 minute later, the same waiter told us of an available seat on the 1st floor. So, poor service for me. If I were just a little impatient, a potential customer would have been chased away. But hey, there are plenty of customers here, so 1 doesn't matter I guess. Food: 1. TDF big breakfast: the standard run in the mill big breakfast that is commonly served in any above average western diner. So, this dish for me, was not a standout in any way. Nothing really special to shout about. The scramble eggs were under seasoned. It felt like an assembly of individual cooked and prepared ingredients instead of a really cohesive big breakfast. Perhaps I was expecting too much after the French toast. Verdict: 3.0/5. 2. French toast: a slight twist on the usual french toast in Malaysia. The bread is crispy fried to perfection, coupled with the banana and strawberry cutlets and delish ice cream!! (Yes, ice for breakfast isn't the healthiest, but who cares as long as it's great together!) It could use a little touch more of honey, but it's all good. Verdict: 4.8/5. 3. Banana pancakes: the pancakes were so fluffy, moist and soft that I could have died, went to heaven and came back to life just for another taste. It was good. Just good. Down side, some small parts of the pancake had a bit of charred taste. Otherwise it was nearly perfect. Verdict: 4.9/5.

The experience here was highly disappointing. While I didn’t expect luxury, the hygiene fell far below acceptable F&B standards—filthy floors, visible food remnants, and accumulated dust detracted from the atmosphere. Service was disorganized—15 minutes just to get your name on a waiting list, followed by more waiting to order and be served. The overall experience was frustrating. It’s surprising that a busy café with this level of foot traffic does not assign table numbers — instead, staff have to repeatedly explain the process verbally, which is inefficient and exhausting for everyone. The check-in process itself took around 15 minutes just to get our names listed, followed by another 15 minutes of SOP briefings like remembering table numbers (during a holiday visit, no less). When we asked about the long wait despite visible empty tables inside, we were told there was a manpower shortage — which, frankly, is poor planning on a public holiday that was scheduled a year in advance. Operationally, the system feels reactive rather than proactive, and there’s a sense of complacency — possibly due to the hype surrounding the café. But hype shouldn’t replace hospitality or efficiency. I hope management reconsiders their workflow to improve customer experience moving forward. I was quite disappointed with the coffee—it was served lukewarm, not hot or even warm enough to enjoy properly. And no, I didn’t leave it sitting for a photo—I drank it immediately after it was served. For a café with a strong reputation, serving coffee at the right temperature should be a basic standard. Sadly, this ruined the experience for me. The location draws tourists, but the experience doesn’t justify the wait or price. There are plenty of other cafés and local eats nearby—this one, unfortunately, isn’t worth your time.

This is my second time trying to book a reservation here just for a quick lunch, the place is always packed. The second time I manage to book a table for 2, but the wait is about 30 mins before they can assist us to the table. While waiting, we managed to get ourselves a traditional fan and a batik sarong as we casually roam the front shop, there we lots of cute and artsy merchandise with reasonable prices. As we were served to our table, we had a quick look at the menu, and ordered and paid first at counter and they will inform you that the food requires 30 mins to be served. We ordered Spaghetti Oglio e Olio Char Siew Chicken, Grill Chicken Sandwich (Ciabatta bread), Local Pandan Pancakes and Berry Blast Smoothie. All the food were served warm although some of the dishes take time to arrive. The food was good as expected, but plating and aesthetic wise the food kinda look like they were prepared in a rushing kind of way which is a bit bummer to see. The pasta is cooked to al dente, and seasoned well, the char siew chicken is perfection. The bun tasted so good, and freshly baked. The smoothies is superb you can taste the tanginess and the combination flavours are there. It was so refreshing. Taste wise all the food are delicious but for a place the has a long queue and waiting period I expected the taste to be exceeding my expectation because I have tried a place with much better food and quality that requires no queue at all. Oh, and the chinese guy that is in charge for the booking is not very friendly at all, didn't greet us with anything welcome or didn't ever bid a goodbye. I'm not sure if it is because we were underdressed for a hype cafe like this. If he would be friendlier, I would give a 5 for service. But so far, it was a pleasant experience. Would I repeat again? Maybe.

Heard a lot about this place and arrived there yesterday. We were "greeted" by a server who asked me to wait. I sat down and waited while my wife looked around the shop. The server then called me moments later asking me to sit outside, I politely asked him if we could sit inside and he got a bit annoyed and told me it'll take 25 minutes, I told him we don't mind waiting.

Instead of telling me to wait, you can simply explain nicely rather than appearing so impatient. Anyway, I sat down again, and 5 minutes later the table was ready. That same server kept giving me looks every now and then and seemed really annoyed we were there.

Upon making a payment I again asked nicely if we could have our beef sandwich cut in a half, and the cashier again, sounding impatient told me that yes they cut it in a half. It seems that they don't really like it when someone asks questions? And I'm sorry but how can we be in this line of business if you get annoyed whenever someone asks a question?

After I observed the place, I notice the staff are like that. They have a lot of customers so they really don't care about making an effort to be warm with people anymore. Basically, if you are here or not, they really don't care because they have enough.

After ordering, we got our food, and it was very average at best.

The beef sandwich was 70% Lettuce and 20% beef and 10% eggs. So basically it was biting down through lettuce and bread.

Best part is when we left, the third waiter looked at us as we were leaving and didn't say thank you at all. I won't be coming here to a place where basic communication skills seem to be missing, I went to the coffee jar the next day and everyone was polite and friendly, and everything seemed normal.

I also noticed how the owner always responds to negative reviews and always tries to make it sound like it's the fault of the customers rather than their restaurant or staff.

In short, this place charged you money and makes you feel like you have done...
