1 Star Stayed at Gingerflower Hotel in Malacca (Deluxe Room) and it was a big disappointment. For the price of SGD 75, the quality was not relevant at all. The room had a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet. The window had no curtains and couldn’t be opened because it faced the corridor — absolutely no privacy. It was also too bright to sleep properly without curtains. There were mosquitoes in the room, the timber flooring was creaky and uneven, and the towels and bedsheets were very old and looked dirty. The mattress was worn out and uneven, and I woke up with a backache. The only pros: the staff were friendly and provided good service, there was free parking, and the location was very convenient — right at the beginning of Jonker Street. Unfortunately, despite the good location, I would not recommend staying here.

Stayed here 2 nights and I couldn’t be happier. I think I booked the best room in the hotel with nice balcony overlooking the Melaka river. The view at night is particularly beautiful. The room is decorated antique style but bathroom is very modern with enclosed shower (unlike many Malaysian hotel have partial or no shower screen). I can see some rooms are small without window but my room (209) was really lovely. If you want to stay in the heart of Melaka old town, this is the place. Jonker street, Dutch square, St Paul’s church, A Famosa, Museum samudera, Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum are all within short walking distance. Highly recommend.

Charming, Cozy, and Perfectly Located! My stay at Gingerflower Boutique Hotel was simply delightful! The hotel's charming heritage-style design makes you feel like you're stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts. The rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated with traditional Peranakan details. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Jonker Street and other key attractions in Melaka. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a mix of culture, comfort, and convenience!

It was clearly a deception, from the photos. ||The check-in was standard, not particularly welcome. We booked a so called superior room. We were given a tiny double room, basic without external window (only a window on the staircase when’s everyone can look in your room). Really too small, you can only walk around a too small double mattress (is it even standard size??). It was not even long enough, and my feet were outside the mattress, and I am not so tall (185). The decoration inside the room is non-existent, not even a local touch or a design touch. No even a "ginger" homemade fresco;) ||There is a TV set with ca 8 channels, all not well tuned at all, not even one proper channel was well-tuned. In the room, there is no USB plugs. Only one switch for the bed lights on one side (not convenient). The aircon was not giving enough air cold temperatures. There is a kettle in the room, a safe box, and a mini fridge wrongly enclosed in a cupboard (hence high temperatures around it). ||The bathroom is well done, modern, clean. Excellent shower. ||Breakfast is fine. ||Despite this hotel is new, you do not feel any particular ambiance there, or let’s say a neutral, simple, basic decoration.||There are so many other hotel choices around that you could choose instead at even better prices.||The morning, we were involuntary awaken once by loud discussions coming from the personnel at the reception, just below our room, we did not like it.||Another unusual thing: you have to pay upfront at check-in your several nights... instead like in any hotel elsewhere at...

I simply adore this boutique hotel. It offers a great location near popular attractions, excellent amenities, and a delightful staff. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable and pleasant stay in the area.

It was a pleasure of staying at this pleasant boutique hotel on the fringe of Jonker Walk. The location was fantastic, as it was close to the famous Red Tarbush buskers and only a short walk away from Masjid Kampung Kling, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Additionally, the River Melaka was conveniently situated just at the rear of the hotel.

One aspect that stood out to me was the hotel's provision of free car parking for residents. This was a great convenience for those who had their own vehicles.

The rooms at the hotel were more than decent, providing a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The well-designed toilets were also worth mentioning, as they were clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the showers was impressive as well, ensuring a satisfying bathing experience.

The staff at the hotel, particularly Killa, Zanariah, and Shakeeb, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Their warm and welcoming attitude made my stay even...

I booked on 1 September for 3 nights for a cost of 502myr. I received my confirmation of booking which stated that I would pay the full balance upon check-in and that a deposit would be taken at check-in. I arrived to check-in and was told by a friendly and kind clerk that my booking had been cancelled. As it turns out, the hotel had attempted to take a deposit on my credit, even though the booking confirmation said they wouldn't, and my card declined the transaction. That all happened on 1 September, as the clerk told me that the deposit is generally taken at the moment of booking. Then, today, on 13 September they tried to contact my bank to find out why the transaction had been declined. The bank was no help and the hotel cancelled my booking. They didn't call me, which I understand because I wasn't using a local number. They didn't email me. No notification. No booking.

Don't go...
