Saw this building a few times on Jonker street back in Feb and March. The Hokkien Huay Kuan Temple is a historical Hokkien clan house and temple. The exterior is lavishly decorated. The two pillars supporting the portico are decorated with dragons wrapping themselves around the columns. The rest of the front is richly decorated with striking, bold and colourful portraits of guardians on the front doors, and sculptures of all along the walls of the portico.
Inside, there is not much to see except for the ancestral shrine. The temple is not alway open, but if you get pictures and selfies with the outside, then that’s probably enough. The building is a great photo op, but...
