Stayed for 2 nights on an impromptu trip with a friend a couple of weeks back. If you're looking for luxury, you're in the wrong neighbourhood. But if you are looking for just a comfortable bed to sleep in, a clean warm shower, and accessibility, this is the perfect place. The rooms are enormous, with 12 "beds", most of which are just a mattress on the floor, there are also a couple of loft beds with shelves and a beanbag each on the bottom. Each bed also has a couple of wall sockets near it for your use. They provide clean pillows and blankets, there are lockers in the room for use, and even card/board games! The air conditioning is strong and can get quite cold, though the blankets are sufficiently thick. One thing to note, the room I was in did not have windows, so you wouldn't know exactly the time you wake up without checking your phone/watch. I can't really say whether it's a good or bad thing, it's personal preference. The toilets are clean and there's one each for males and females. They provide water heaters, soap, and shampoo. There's also a hairdryer and washing machine for use. Wifi is reasonably fast and convenient. The location is convenient, there are restaurants and shops nearby, and it is just 10-15min away from Jonker Street on foot. That said, you can get around Melaka using Uber affordably, though we had fun exploring on foot too. Check-in/out was hassle-free, and quick. Overall, it was a good experience, definitely worth the price. ||||TLDR; cheap and good option. Beware it is easy to miss along the street. Look out for a big "76" on top of a door leading up to...
Read moreI went on the first night from Melaka Central and check in. First of all, the third floor room smell like a rotten socks. Avoid as much as you can. I know I paid for RM25 per bed but then I can't tolerate the smell at all. Carpet smell sour . ||The worst thing was, I woke up at 12.45am feeling all itchy over my body. I can't sleep. All neck, fingers, hand, hair, face all itchy. I tried to use the blanket because I taught it were the mosquitoes but then I realized i got itchier in the blanket. and yes BED BUGS! Bed Bugs galore everywhere. Believe it or not I change my room to second floor and woke up at 10.30am the next day. ||Second floor room is better but you have to topup RM5 and you get a locker next to you. Thats all. ||Owner is nice and also receptionist is helpful. Ended to stay here for 3 nights . Also toilet flush in second floor is...
Read moreCheck in was fast, check out even faster. The doors are controlled by an electronic lock with p/w, so when you check out, you just get out, and that's about it.||||The dorm was air-con'td, beds were clean and comfy, the bathrooms (there were 2 on each floor) had hot water shower and body and hair shampoo were provided. There were free coffee and tea as well. And WIFI was pretty strong.||||All in all, this place is highly recommended for anyone who's on a budget. But if you have severe arthrities or any mobility limitations, this place is not for you as you have to climb a flight of stairs to the dorm...and the one that's cheaper is on the third level.||||Within walking distance are local eateries selling local food which are pretty cheap and good. Christchurch, Stadburys, Jonker Walk are all within a reasonable...
