We have paid 220 MYR for 2 nights
The positives: the lady coordinating the stay was very nice and helpful. She accepted our reservation without prepayment (usually it is required to make a bank transfer which is very inconvenient for foreigners without a bank account) and made sure we got additional toiletries as well as an extra blanket after we have asked for it. There were 3 additional power plugs which even worked with our European plugs. The location was good - close to the bus terminal and close to many food options but still in a green setting. There was also a kettle and mugs provided.
The negatives: overall the cottage was in a bad condition. The cottage was very poorly isolated resulting in cold temperatures during the night - there was only one thin blanket which was not sufficient (we have visited in August). There were also swarms of mosquitoes inside the cottage (no mosquito net provided) and you could hear all noises from outside (cars, dogs, people) making it difficult to sleep without earplugs. The bathroom looked pretty moldy, water was not really hot but more lukewarm most of the time, and the toilet was broken so water kept running. The bed was uncomfortable - you could feel the springs and I was rolling to the middle of the mattress. The blankets had no duvet cover making us uncomfortable as we were not sure if they were clean or not. There was no cleaning during our stay and the towels did not dry because of the humidity inside. The cottages had no curtains so it was bright inside. Despite the romantic name there was no nice view - just looking at the wall of the hotel in front.
In summary, for those who like it rough and basic it’s an ok option, but if you have higher expectations in terms of comfort I do not recommend this place and it’s way overpriced...
Read moreWe had the "Tulip" family room and really cannot recommend staying here.
Much of the furniture is in very bad condition or even broken like the chairs outside. There is no place to sit together except outside.
Despite an extreme amount of mosquitoes there are no mosquito nets on the windows or over the bed. Other reviews mentioned this months ago, nothing has changed.
Bed sheets, towels and curtains were smelly and dirty. This was also already pointed out to the owners without any results.
The bathroom has a major damp problem and smells bad. There was probably mold everywhere, but since the lights in the rooms were a disaster, you couldn't really see it.
You're walking distance (2 min) to the bus station, but that also means you're close to the road and since there is no sound isolation whatsoever, you'll hear every scooter, car, bus, drunken tourist and the muezzin throughout day and night.
We mentioned all this in our review on AirBnB and the owners literally replied: "I admit that our staff does not focus on the condition of the room." Well, what else do they focus on?!
We had to force a refund because they wouldn't agree to pay back any part of this horrible and overpriced accommodation that hadn't been taken care of for the...
Read moreThis place is not taken care of at all. It has the potential to be nice, maybe was at some point, but now it’s just rotting away. Our room smelled of humidity the whole time, nothing was ever drying. The bathroom had a persistant urine smell. There is no mosquito net on the bed nor on the windows, but mosquitoes are very active. We had to install our own one. There is an area outside to sit but the chairs are broken and it is very dirty. Previous guests forgot their toothbrush and hair styling stuff and it wasn’t...
