Highlands Spice proves to be a culinary delight with its diverse menu and delectable offerings. Nestled conveniently in Cameron Highlands, this restaurant offers a satisfying experience for both locals and visitors alike.
Upon perusing the extensive menu, I opted for the Mutton Biryani, a decision that proved to be a culinary triumph. The rice, infused with a delightful smoky flavor, added a unique touch to the dish. The Mutton Curry exceeded expectations, generously portioned with succulent meat, leaving me pleasantly surprised and running out of rice before the curry—an unusual but welcomed occurrence.
Exploring further, the Mutton Thali presented a decent array of flavors, while the Roti Canai with Egg showcased a flavorful twist. The Garlic Roti Canai, a delightful addition, added an extra layer of savory goodness to the meal. The fresh pineapple juice was also very refreshing and tasted fresh.
Service at Highlands Spice was commendable, marked by its quickness and the overall friendliness of the staff. However, it's worth noting that the establishment operates on a cash-only basis, a minor inconvenience that may catch some patrons off guard.
For those exploring the Cameron Highlands, this restaurant proves to be an excellent lunch spot. The drawback of limited restroom facilities, with only one bathroom that was somewhat unkempt, may be a minor consideration for some visitors. Parking is available conveniently across the street in a lot or on the street, providing ease of access.
In conclusion, despite the cash-only policy and restroom considerations, Highlands Spice is a highly recommended dining destination. Its flavorful offerings, generous portions, and convenient location make it a standout choice for a satisfying meal, especially after a visit to the picturesque...
Read moregreat for vegetarians - we were in thana rata for 7 days and luckily this wonderful place was recommended to us on the first day.. highland spice.. when we first stood in front of the entrance of the place a very friendly young man waved to us and immediately cleared a table for us. he explained to us the indian specialties they offered and we were very surprised at the fair price. there were so many delicious dishes on the menu that we could hardly decide which to try first. Already after the first meal it was clear that we will come back more often! In the past 7 days we have eaten in this restaurant 10 times and have tried almost everything once.. one dish better than the other.. we particularly liked the following dishes: Murtabak vegetable, roti canai, banana leaf rice, Indian style noodles and the self-service area is a dream. to drink, we can particularly recommend the chai tea. It would be a joke that we were only attracted by the food, and the very friendly and familiar team made us come back again and again. We especially fell in love with one employee - Ravi. for us he was not only a friendly young man, great waiter and entertainer, but even a real friend until the end. We were also allowed to get to know the boss of the restaurant and were treated so well. great. It is not for nothing that we have chosen this place again and again. really more than recommended! many thanks for the many delicious tasting dishes and the kindness to serve...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite restaurants in Tanah Rata and might even be number 1 on our list. The Indian food is so flavorful and delicious. We stayed in Tanah Rata for 4 days and we came back to eat at this restaurant at least once per day, sometimes even twice. They have the best Roti Canai for breakfast… it is so flaky and has a nice crispy yet dough like texture. A couple of our favorite dishes were the butter chicken, Mee hoon Goreng and the garlic naan served with the dal sauce. The service is great, as they have many employees who are smiling and ready to answer questions about the cuisine. The service is quick and efficient as well, even when they are busy. The price is very affordable as well (we didn’t spend over 50 RM/$10 USD for any of the meals we had there split between 2 people). One of our favorite things was to watch the screen they have out front on how they make each dish as we waited for our food. One thing to note is that they do not accept credit card and it is cash only. This and the neighbor restaurant Sri Brinchang were our two favorite restaurants in the Cameron Highlands. I highly recommend...
