Extremely Disappointed – Poor Food Quality and Misleading Service
We visited this restaurant last night during a trip to Cameron Town, drawn in by several staff members standing outside with menus, actively encouraging passersby to dine in. Although we initially felt pressured, we decided to give it a try as a group of 5 adults and 2 children.
While drinks were served promptly, the food took an unacceptably long time to arrive — especially considering we were the only customers at the time. What made matters worse was the quality of the food, particularly the Lamb Mandhi I ordered. It was severely disappointing — the dish was dominated by bones and fat, with barely any edible meat, yet priced at RM34. That level of quality is not justifiable at that price point.
When I brought this issue up to the restaurant in-charge, Mr. Raju, he defended it by saying they purchase raw meat at RM38.50/kg. While I am aware of current market prices and found this hard to believe, I still accepted his claim. However, it does not explain or excuse why customers are served dishes composed mostly of inedible parts.
The management seriously needs to evaluate their food quality and serving standards. Serving fat and bones as a main meat dish is not only unacceptable but reflects poorly on the restaurant’s values and respect for its customers. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make immediate...
Read moreI’d give it zero stars if I could. Pathetic and tasteless food. Sloppy service. Sloppy staff who are arrogant. The owner is the same. Unhygienic and unclean plates and glasses. The place looks good as a restaurant from the outside but flatters to deceive. Owners clearly don’t care about reputation hence they seem to troll other feedback posted here too. Such a place shouldn’t be encouraged. Glad to see the bad reviews across the board here. Save your money and your health by NOT dining here. We did and walked out after sitting down and seeing the place and the attitude.
There are many better Indian restaurants around. Go to “Highland Spice” on the same lane instead that’s located just a few doors down. It doesn’t show on Google but it has much better and tastier food and service. Choose that. Avoid this. And you’ll thank me and others later.
Edit: Given their response to this review, It’s clear that this clueless person from the restaurant replying on Google does not even know when a customer dined. I’d given my name to them too to remember it as I mentioned I would review once back home. This was in December end folks. Think back :) And fix your restaurant and your attitude before giving snarky and ill-informed replies to honest reviews from me and others....
Read moreThis is a lively place with a sporty feeling as live sport is shown on a big TV. The ambiance is good and the temperature is slightly warm compared to the outside of CH. Be careful of flies. The staffs are friendly and attentive. Nevertheless, it is a different story with the food. The menu is somewhat confusing as two versions are offered (Arabic and North Indian food). For example, you can order an Arabic chicken biryani or a North Indian biryani with the Arabic biryani being more expensive. So, I ordered an Indian chicken biryani as it looks appealing from the picture but was disappointed with the taste and portion. If in the picture they serve with boiled egg (as they usually do in KL), they do not do it here. The chicken taste like it was defrosted for a very long time before it was cooked. My friend ordered the plain naan which is soft and fluffy and tandoori chicken. The chicken tasted tender and juicy but only one piece of chicken is served with a side salad despite the picture showing two pieces of chicken. Overall, the portion size does not reflect the price and picture. You can definitely visit somewhere else for an authentic Indian food with your stomach and...
