Riad Adore really is adorable ! From the minute they open up that lovely front door you are welcomed with smiles from all of the staff. Everyone is so accommodating and my husband and were really thankful that i managed to book the last room available for the 4 nights i selected. I had sent a WhatsApp message direct to Stuart the owner of the Riad (details on the website) as i was concerned I may not be able to reserve the room in time. Stuart could not have been more helpful and he also arranged a taxi to collect us at the airport, together with an evening meal which we paid for later. There is a map of the Medina and surrounding tourist sights provided by the Riad in your arrival. We stayed in Yasmina room which had the most comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. As we walked for the whole day every day, we were delighted to have the guarantee of the best sleep every night. The decor in the bedroom, en suite bathroom and the whole of the Riad is very impressive. I took so many photos to send to my family and friends and everyone wished they had joined us. We must give a special shout to Brahim who welcomed us on our arrival and the 2 young Mohamed's who went out of their way every day to serve us as nothing was too much trouble. They both worked tirelessly up and down the rooftop terraces to serve meals and bring coffee and tea whenever anyone requested. They are all a huge asset to the Riad Adore. Thank you again Stuart, we loved our stay at your beautiful peaceful oasis of calm. The Medina is a force of nature and you really have to have your wits about you when walking as there are so many motorbikes who fly past without consideration for anyone who is trying to browse the stalls. We visited the beautiful Secret Garden which was very near Riad Adore. It gets very busy so get there early or later in the day to avoid queues. The Bahia Palace was also beautiful but has ongoing renovations to preserve the history. Unfortunately, you have to avoid the sites when trying to take a good photo. The centre of the medina is Jemaa El Fnaa and an evening visit is a complete shock to your senses but is definitely worth it. Its worth reserving a table at any rooftop restaurant (do your research) for an early evening meal so you can see the square coming to life. I will definitely be back (probably with other family members) and be more adventurous and visit other places in Morocco. Riad Adore will certainly be on my list of...
Read moreHere is my honest review. Please note that I rarely leave negative reviews. We are a very easy going family.
Everyone is very welcoming and caring, but I think that’s part of the Moroccan culture. Most people working in the office, they think that all tourists are multimillionaires and we have been blessed with excessive wealth and extra cash that we do not know what to do with it.
We booked 2 suites: Bahia and Victoria. Our adult kids stayed in Bahia and they were satisfied with the wifi. That’s all they really care about.
We stayed in Victoria. A bit rundown than Bahia. One of the sinks (close to the wall), was clogged. Only 1 sink was working. The tub has a huge crack in it, little flies come out of the drain and the cleaners plug it daily. The water mid shower fluctuates from extreme cold to extreme hot. You need to stay alert at all times. The shower drain is slow and you end up standing in water up to your ankles.
Beware, you WILL need to repay the riad for the taxi ride from airport to the riad. I was somewhat shocked, because nowhere did they mentioned this upon booking.
I got a hammam experience booked and I do not recommend it. The exfoliation room is old, dark and the smell of sewage is overpowering. Then you will walk to another room for your massage. There’s no timer, and even though i was told it’s 45 minutes of massage, it was half that time. I do not recommend it. It’s not a good experience. Also, upon arrival, we were told that it’s €40, but when booked it, it changed to €60. The prices are like the stock market. They look at you and your clothing and charge you accordingly to the way you are dressed.
There are 2 gentlemen that guard the riad overnight and they serve you breakfast in the morning. They are extremely nice, caring, friendly, accommodating and very hardworking. The nicest people in Marrakech, if not the country. They are not looking for extra cash or tip, they are good people. The 3 stars service is for those 2.
This riad is not a luxury and it isn’t an average place. Riad Nyla next door (i peeked in when a guest entered) was...
