Hotel Buddha Land — Hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

I stayed at Buddhaland 4 years ago. When arranging this trip, I would not stay anywhere else for the first days back in Kathmandu! The service is still great, the breakfast is even better, hot showers in the late afternoon is just the ticket. The hotel now has a small terrace/front porch area raised up from the street to front door level. ||I wanted to contact Namo Buddha Monastery to see if I could book a room there and the desk agent called for me and translated! ||My only sadness was to see that except for a few changes, Buddhaland is tired and showing its age. Some of the issue is the construction going on across the street that used to be an open area. The construction dust is unavoidable and the workers start early. ||NOTE: Other guests were warm and easy to talk to just like the last time I stayed there. For the price, the location, and hospitality, you can’t find a better hotel. Not to mention, breakfast is included!!

The breakfast was tasty, the coffee was good, and sitting area nice. You can choose between scrambled eggs, sunny side up, or an omelet. I think there’s other breakfast options as well. You can choose to have your breakfast inside the breakfast room, outside on the balcony, or inside your room.

The room was clean, sheets were clean, and bathroom was clean. The inside balcony was unique, and definitely a plus!!

There was an issue with the water heater, which caused two days of cold showers. They did get the issue fixed, don’t make your judgement thinking there won’t be hot water.

Overall, I had a very good stay and would stay again at the Hotel Buddha Land.

This is a great place to stay in Thamel. First of all, hotel crew is the best. These people are so amazing, warm, friendly, really in service for whatever you need and they make you feel at home! Thank you for everything! ||Location is great because everything is near (including a tasty Gaia restaurant) and what is not you can easily get a car with a cool friendly driver. Ask staff for whatever you need and they will inform you about anything instantly.||Room is clean, shower is hot, every service is functioning well. Food they make is very very good, big portions and with many varieties.||I warmly recommend this hotel...
