After an unforgettable trek to Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp, my family and I spent two nights—May 30th and 31st this year — at Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu. I’m usually not one to write reviews, but the hospitality we experienced here was so exceptional, I felt compelled to share.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Our initial room had a minor issue with the toilet flush, but the manager, Mr. Prabin Shah, responded immediately and moved us to another room that was both elegant and incredibly cozy. His attentiveness set the tone for the rest of our stay.

Thamel’s vibrant shopping scene was just steps away, and after exchanging currency, we enjoyed a relaxed evening exploring the area. We requested dinner at the hotel, and after days of trekking, the meal felt absolutely heavenly—delicious, comforting, and served with care.

The next afternoon, as rain gently fell outside, Mr. Shah offered us complimentary coffee. That simple gesture, paired with the cozy ambiance, made the moment feel truly special. On our final morning, we were treated to a lovely breakfast, and during checkout, Mr. Shah and his team gave us a warm and grand send-off that left us genuinely touched.
