I found this place the first night I arrived in Kathmandu and have been a regular ever since, throughout all 3 weeks of my time here. It can be easy to miss when you're walking through Thamel, but a visit here is definitely worth your time. I've tried the chilly chicken, tandoori chicken, and chow mein, and all 3 dishes were incredible! I meant to try more of the menu, but the chicken chow mein was so good that I ended up getting that almost every time I came!
The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is fantastic, and the prices can't be beat. Even having tried a variety of different food in the city, from street carts to steak houses, Shree Lumbinin Tandoori & Naan House has ended up being my go-to place for most dinners. And don't forget to grab some of the garlic naan! Their naan is, without exaggeration, some of the best I've ever had. Don't miss out on this delicious and affordable spot when you're in Kathmandu, you...
Read moreA great place and always has a passing trade in both sitting areas. Mostly Indian style food. Their chana masala is standout and the lads that work there are always friendly. Also the Rajma (bean curry) is great as is the palak paneer (spinach and cheese curry). This is my default place for breakfast. Standout flavours and the butter naan is amazing Has a really good tandoori oven and they have great butter nan/roti.
Their masala chai is really good. You sit and eat as they make the roti/nan infront of you (front sitting area). All the food looks good and lots of locals seem to have a quick eat here. I've tried many dishes and all were excellent. Also great is the aloo paratha😍
Highly recommend. Very reasonable prices too....
Read moreThis is one of those hidden jems. It looks like a simple local eatery, and a bit hard to spot from the street but the food is fantastic!! We spent 5 days in Thamel, eating in various places, from high profile tourist restaurants to small eateries, and this one is by far serves the best food. We even came back here on our last night here (which was also by coincidence a Christmas night), just to tell you how good the food is. If you are here you must try Chicken Chilly, or paneer chilly if you are vegetarian. I ordered this same dish in other more expensive restaurant and it was nowhere near by richness of taste. The place is run by one family, brothers of all ages work here. The service is very good, prices very...
