ABC Outdoor (Raeko) — Local services in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

I came to A.B.C. Outdoors for their selection of LA Sportiva Trekking Boots. Was traveling in warm weather countries before and didn't expect to make a trek but found myself a short flight away from Kathmandu with an insatiable desire to be trekking. Long story short, I decided to do Everest Three Passes and spent a few days going between the highest rated trekking stores before finding ABC.

I have a large and wide foot (normally 47 extra wide) and found most shops in Kathmandu didn't stock over a 45. ABC had the perfect boot for me, TX5-GTX which proved itself on my solo trek with no porter or guide. While this isn't a shoe review, their staff had a good knowledge of the trekking boots and patiently helped me as I researched on my phone, pacing around their store for what seemed like hours.

I also got a set of UA thermals, a 3/4 zip and some really quality Rohner socks. They aren't high pressure and made the process really easy to get outfitted. They have great product with good price. The quality is far better than the other expensive brand. They have good hospitality to the customer. They have Orginal Saloman shoes. If you.going to any trek or climb or if tou need out door equipment, this right place to buy with good price. The owner is very delightful person. This is a great store! For those who are new to Nepal and Kathmandu many of the stores in and around Thamel sell what appear to be North Face, Arcteryx etc from the look of them. Locals jokingly call these "North Fakes". I would personally avoid these as they are lower quality.
