We found this hotel on booking.com as a good value for money. And it was true... for $17 I had a clean comfortable room with own bathroom and a working electricity plug. The staff was very kind and friendly and helped me with my baggage. Even though they organized for me a taxi for Kathmandu and Patan sightseeing for the whole next day, helped me to get a nepali sim card and arranged a bus ticket for me to get to Pokhara. The food and drinks in the hotel restaurant Oregano were delicious and quite cheap.|Location of the hotel is in a not rushy narrow street decorated by nepali prayer flags. The tourist bus station Kantipath is within 10 minutes walk. All in all the hotel and its location provides a good atmosphere in an otherwise very rushy city of Kathmandu.|Only one disadvantage was that the credit card payment was not available at that moment.|I already booked another two nights for staying in Kathmandu after my trek in A.C.A.P. for relax, sightseeing and shopping in the nearby...

We stayed as a party of 3 people in March for several days in two rooms. This hotel is pretty cheap but it's also very clean and tidy which marks it out as a cut above the normal Thamel hotels. In a great location just at the top end of Thamel in a quieter side street.||||The staff are attentive and friendly, the food in its 'Oregano Grill' was excellent and we had a look at the kitchen - it is super clean - so ate there often. ||||The rooms are a bit small and have the typical slightly grotty Kathamndu bathrooms with brownish water but the showers were hot & everything worked (for a change). ||||This hotel also offers a good laundry service at the same price of other outlets in Thamel - on a 2-3 day service. Very useful!||||Note that there is now a taxi permit system which means that only vehicles with tourist 'green' number plates can access the narrow street this hotel is located on, be aware if you have a lot of luggage!||||I'd recommend this for a Thamel stay if you're...
