I stayed several nights in the Hotel Sohum. One night before our trekking expedition in Langtang, three nights before a yoga and meditation retreat and another six nights after. The place is really great !!! Perfect location in a quiet and peaceful area of Thamel, only a five minutes walk away from it’s center. The rooms and showers are nice and clean and the mattresses very comfortable. And everything for reasonable prices. Tilak the owner and his daughter Monika are very hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts. They can also give a lot of useful hints and tips regarding trekking and sightseeing in Nepal and about the best yoga and meditation retreats in the outskirts of Kathmandu. The guy at the front desk was very unfriendly. I stayed for more than ten days in total, and except for the last day, I paid 800 per night for the bed.
