I came to this cafĂ© because of its amazing architecture and the old Newari-style building. But when I first entered, I didnât realize that you had to place your order at the counter - I just went straight to a table instead. The attendant saw me but didnât stop me or say anything. After sitting for more than 10 minutes with no one coming to take my order, I finally asked, only to be greeted with a lot of indifference from the girls at the counter.
Anyway, since I was already there and the ambiance was nice, I decided to order a coffee. I paid, took it to one of the courtyard tables, and stayed there, connected to the Wi-Fi, browsing around for a while. Suddenly, I looked up and realized it had become completely silent - I was alone. When I went to the main door, I found it not only closed but locked! Nobody had bothered to tell me they were closing.

Still, I couldnât believe they had just left me sitting there without saying a word.
Eventually, a guy came from the back of the house, along with one of the not-so-friendly attendants. They showed me there was a back door leading to the alley. Instead of apologizing, they reacted as if I was overreacting for being concerned about being left locked inside. I felt really dismayed by such behavior.
Sad - very sad - because the place itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, but it definitely needs much...

Although it is a circumscribed are, the ambience that is open to the sky of nepal makes me feel cool. I have been looking for a great cafe in Kathmandu. In the end I found one of the best cafĂ©s that I thought are very gorgeous in Kathmandu on Saturday that is only holiday in Nepal. I think that Courtyard that is surrounded by one small building and the space of antique style is the important element enhancing this cafĂ©âs value. Both of the words âcourtâ and âyardâ derive from the same root, meaning an enclosed space. Even though it may be considered an elclosed space in, it is open to all the spaces psychologically.
I had a cup of hot americano and a piece of apple cake. Americano is affordable and apple cake is cheap. The taste is good. I might visit again before leaving...
