We stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a generally positive experience. Situated just a two-minute walk from Thamel, it offers the convenience of being close to the vibrant area while remaining tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood.
We booked a Triple-Bedded Room and a Double-Bedded Room. Both were spacious and comfortable, with the Double-Bedded Room standing out as our favorite. It featured cozy beds and large windows that allowed plenty of sunlight to brighten the space. However, the Triple-Bedded Room lacked seating options like a sofa or chairs, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the balcony of the Triple-Bedded Room was a major letdown—it was extremely dirty and covered in pigeon droppings, making it unusable.
One of the highlights of our stay was the terrace. We absolutely loved it! The terrace offered excellent views of Kathmandu city and the surrounding hills, making it a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery.
The breakfast buffet was another highlight, offering a generous spread of delicious options. The coffee, in particular, was noteworthy.
The owner, Mr. Hari, was incredibly helpful. He assisted us in arranging a car for sightseeing and for our transfer to Nagarkot, all at reasonable rates.
Despite a few drawbacks, this hotel is a good choice for staying in Kathmandu. It strikes a great balance by being close to the lively Thamel area while offering a quiet retreat from the...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and it left me feeling unsettled and disturbed. From the moment I entered my room, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. As I settled in for the night, strange noises began to fill the room - creaking floorboards, rattling windows, and unexplained footsteps. But it wasn't just the noises that made me feel like I was sharing my room with an unwanted guest. The air felt heavy and oppressive, and I couldn't shake the feeling that someone - or something - was watching me. Every time I closed my eyes, I could sense a presence hovering over me, and I found it impossible to relax or sleep. I tried to rationalize my fears, telling myself that it was just my imagination playing tricks on me. But the more I tried to ignore the feeling, the stronger it became. The hotel was rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a former guest who had met an untimely end.
Overall, while the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, my experience was marred by the unsettling feeling of being in a room with a ghostly presence. If you're someone who is sensitive to paranormal activity, I would advise against staying...
Read moreThe room I was in is spacious and house keeping does a fantastic job each day cleaning my room. On my second night, they ran outta hot water -- thus giving me an authentic Nepali experience. I loved it, and I'm not even being sarcastic.
The fish and chips that room service offered is great as well. I had that a few times for dinner.
I initially rated this 4/5 Stars but bumped it up to 5/5 Stars because of the Security Guard for making me feel safe there. I do not remember his name but My Lady referred to him as Dai -- A decent man who is honest and helpful.
One of the evenings, I had a nasty experience with a Pathao driver. Worried that he might come back to be even nastier, I told the Dai about it. He took this very seriously because every day thereafter, when I left the hotel he would tell me that he hasn't seen the driver come back to this area. In fact, he went above and beyond his duty the next time I ordered a Pathao driver. He gave the driver a stern warning to take me to my destination safely because he had taken note of the driver's license plate and name! What a champ!
I wish I remembered his name and took a...
