We recently spent 10 nights at the Nepal Cottage Resort in Kathmandu, and it was a delightful experience for our family. This resort is a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.
The resort is ideally located near Thamel, the bustling heart of Kathmandu, yet it is far enough to provide a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. This balance makes it an excellent choice for those who want to explore the vibrant city life but also crave a quiet place to unwind.
One of the standout features of the Nepal Cottage Resort is its exceptional child-friendly environment. The resort boasts a secure, enclosed garden where children can play safely. This garden quickly became our children's favorite spot, allowing them to enjoy the outdoors without any worries.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay. The staff is incredibly attentive and always ready to assist with any needs, ensuring that our stay was as pleasant as possible. The resort's serene atmosphere made it easy for us to relax and recharge.
The breakfast at the resort is extensive and delicious, offering a variety of options to suit all tastes. We particularly enjoyed the fresh fruits and local delicacies. The on-site restaurant is also excellent, serving a range of dishes that cater to both local and international palates. The quality of the food and the friendly service made dining here a highlight of our stay.
In summary, the Nepal Cottage Resort is a fantastic choice for families looking for a peaceful and safe environment in Kathmandu. Its proximity to Thamel means you can easily access the city's attractions, while the resort itself offers a serene escape. The combination of a child-friendly atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and excellent dining options makes it a perfect home away from home.
We highly recommend the Nepal Cottage Resort to anyone visiting Kathmandu, especially families with young children. Our 10-night stay was memorable, and we look forward to returning...

We booked for two rooms yet they said we only booked one. They charged us extra fee for other room. The exchange rate of roopie per dollar was 110.97, but they tried to fraud us saying it was 105. When i opened the "other room" door, i had to freak out because there were naked ppl in there sleeping. I went back to the counter, told them that the room they gave us seemed like they were already booked. They gave me the "another room",after 5 minutes of complaining the situation on phone while we had to stand there, wait for her to finish it up. She gave me "another room", which the locker was broken. So we ended up changing rooms and moving around for 3 times with luggages we carried. And throughout the whole situtation not a single staff apologized to us. This is the last place to go in Nepal. I would rather sleep in the stable with horses than go back...
ย ย ย Read moreA super friendly hotel in a quiet spot near all the action in Thamel. Great value too. The staff we met were charming throughout our two-week stay - in particular Sabin, Rashila, Salina, Osmin and Dipesh - despite having to deal with tired trekkers who come and go at all hours. We were lucky enough to be there during Tihar when the town was alive with carnival floats, music, dancing and fireworks. The carnival set off from the bottom of the lane leading to the hotel so we were immersed in the whole thing. Terrific, unforgettable fun! The hotel does a good breakfast (including lots of delicious chopped fruit) and a nice dinner on the garden patio, though sadly not many used it as there are so many other eateries within walking distance. The shower was hot and the wi-fi very fast, with routers everywhere. No idea about the television. Who wants to watch TV when there's so much else to see? Thank you for looking after us so well. If we go back to Kathmandu the Cottage Resort will be top...
