Located in the Thamel neighborhood in Kathmandu, 20.9 km from Nagarkot, M Hotel Thamel-Kathmandu features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property. The hotel also provides car rental. The nearest airport is Tribhuvan Airport, 5 km from the property. Thamel is a great choice for travelers interested in shopping, food and hiking. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The manager and his team always enquire and help us in our needs. They even presented a souveniours for us and send us off when we are on taxi about to leave for airport. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Location is perfect. Just walking distance to shopping street. The signature dishes in hotel's restaurant are excellent too. Thank you to all the staffs of M hotel to make our stay relax and comfortable. Breakfast on table was not so good... But luckily we can request for sausages and eggs and others without any extra charges. Many hotel guests doesn't know about this special request though... Toothbrush and toothpaste has to be requested too... The staffs there were very friendly and helpful! And especially Mr. Abhishek who takes great interests in the welfare and the comfort of their hotel guests! Credits also goes to Miss Sanjana and also one more staff whom i had...
Read moreWhile not in a bad location it was annoying that the address was wrong on every map and not a single driver knew where it was. When we called the hotel for airport pickup we couldn’t get us a driver “because the driver wasn’t feeling well” and getting one at the airport was not any fun at all. There was a little bit of feces left in the toilet bowl and some hairs around the bathroom. The shower wouldn’t drain and flooded the entire bathroom within 60-120 seconds at half stream. The WiFi was non existent for really loading anything. It was honestly the loudest room I’ve ever stayed in my entire life. 99 countries so far traveled so that’s impressive. The staff were always banging something or dragging chairs and tables at literally all times of the day and night. Kept us up till 1:30-2am and woke us up at around 6:30-7am BOTH days. The housekeeping was also very loud laughing and dragging their feet and slamming doors very hard from very early in the morning.
We called to arrange a cab one night and the man who picked up at the front desk just decided to hang up mid call because he was over it.
The bed was exceptionally hard and my wife got a bruise because it was like sleeping on the floor.
Overall I would not recommend anyone stay here. We ended up checking out and moving to Marriott which...
Read morewhere to start with this hotel? let’s start with the positive i suppose. the staff are very friendly albeit not very effective.|we arrived on a saturday early afternoon and all we wanted was to be able to rest. quite impossible when there’s a monstruosité digger just next to the hotel making as much noise as a small army. despite our numerous complaints this went on until 21:30. then, the howling dogs took over for the night. we were promised that on sunday, everything would be quiet but far from it. the workers were back on site. so, very little rest or sleep for us at the M hotel. beware, the construction site may be there for a long time.|apart from that, the noise within the hotel is relentless too. our room was adjacent to a staff room and we could hear everything that was happening in there.|breakfast is pretty poor as well. also, many people recommend thamel but i don’t see the point in staying in that area. in hindsight, i would have stayed in a different and less polluted part of the city. but as i said, the staff are...
