New Elite's Guest House — Hotel in Pokhara

New Elite's GH is a small family business, run by the mother and her son Purna. I don't think you can book online, but you can call ahead or send an email to Purna; he speaks very good english and is pleasant and polite. I stayed for one week in a 3rd floor ensuite room with twin beds that had a great view, with a balcony overlooking the lake (sgl price,1200 NRs; rooms without a view started at 800 NRs). The room also had a large TV with BBC, CNN, and movie channels, a big plus for me during a long stay. The room was large and clean, the bathroom was normal (no enclosed shower), and hot water for a shower was mainly available in the afternoon/early evening, otherwise the water was tepid. The wifi was not great in the room, but worked ok just outside the door in the courtyard hall. The gueshouse has no garden, but it does have a central courtyard area, surrounded by the 3 floors of rooms.||This guesthouse is located on Baidam Rd, North Lakeside, just a few doors up from Hallan Chowk (the google map is more accurate). I like being located close to Hallan Chowk; local buses leave from there to go to Pame at the end of the lake or uptown to Old Pokhara, there are several motorcycle rental shops at the Chowk, the road goes down to the lake, and there are many inexpensive restaurants, shops and an internet...

We spent 3 nights in this guest house. Let me give my honest feedback

Pro. - Location is good. View from room is good. Owner helps for arranging cabs and mobile recharge

Cons.-

Behaviour of the owner is very bad. Even if you book one particular room and pay in advance, you will not get the room once you reach hotel. 2 times this happened with me. They at first denied and later when we provided the proof. They started arguing with us. When we said we shall not pay the same amount for the small room, the owner said that just take your money back and search for other hotel at late night( when we reached the hotel after returning from muktinath).

For any cab arrangement they take commission. I have arranged cabs from outside, it was much more cheaper

Most of the power sockets were not in working condition

TV was just for show

Hot water was not available in all the times

I found there safety issue might happen in some of the rooms.

There was a small gap between bed and back rest. Anything can fall from there. Mobile, medicine etc. if anything falls then you will not be able to pick it up.

At the time of booking owner promised they will provide complementary tea in all the days. But we only received team in one day where as we stayed...

Excellent experience. I stayed with Purna and his mother for almost 7 months during lockdown Corona time in 2020. I could hardly have asked for a better place to be. The rooms and surroundings are being kept very clean, the people are extremely nice, yet discreet. The Mama let me use the kitchen which was worth gold for me during those times. They have super fast internet on the 3rd floor, so one can watch some movies or download stuff. The views are amazing as the place is located directly Next to the lake. A roof top offers space to do Yoga in the morning or just relax in a green plant environment. The place can be a bit noisy at times as it’s located next to the street, yet noise just seems to be a part of Nepalese culture.
