After spending 6 weeks in the Amazon I planned to do some travel around Cusco and wanted to find a reasonably priced hostel with private rooms. I found El Grial through booking.com with a private en-suite room for a great price. When I arrived the quality exceeded my expectation. This place feels more like a hotel than hostel. The building itself is really good. I was a bit concerned about the noise as the place is open plan and the doors are very thick but this area in San Blas is really quiet and like I said, this is more like a hotel than a hostel (not loud and no late partying in the common area). ||This place is incredibly clean. The room is tiered, bed is made land towels replaced everyday. ||The staff are absolutely wonderful too. Super helpful and friendly… extremely tolerant of my awful attempts at Spanish. ||I liked this place so much I decided to rebook following my Inca Trail trek. The staff were more than happy to store my bags for the 4 days and had them waiting for me in my room when I returned. Highly recommend this place, especially when...
Read moreFirst of all, this place is extremely underrated. I have traveled for years in hostels and 5* hotels and this place ranks in my top10. Its also the best neighborhood in cusco, san blas. You can walk to everything and the hills really give your legs a good workout.
The building is beautiful and old, the pictures dont do it justice. And when it rains it's a lovely pitter patter on the roof.
The rooms are a good size and very clean, there is always hot water, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious. The neighborhood was quiet !
I stayed here in February so it was likely quieter than normal. I only saw women patrons, which was nice as we tend to be a little quieter.
The staff are AMAZING! Lovely peruvian women, very friendly and kind. Its weird but I felt very taken care of here. :) they also helped me with my spanish.
I can't recommend this place enough. I was only intending to stay 5 days and I stayed 8. Love it here, thanks to the staff for making my stay lovely.Gracias al...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay at Hostal El Grial. The staff was extremely helpful and super friendly, greeting us with tea on arrival and accommodating an early check-in. Before our trek to Machu Picchu, they prepared breakfast for us, even with an early 3am departure, and offered to store our extra luggage.||The hostel is in a wonderful neighborhood with many great restaurants, and we always felt safe walking around, even at night. Breakfast was simple but good, with freshly made eggs available each day. The rooms were comfortable, with firm mattresses. Although some reviews mentioned noise, we did not experience this. The street outside is quiet at night, and any noise was limited to occasional footsteps in the corridor.||Overall, Hostal El Grial provided a wonderful experience, and we highly...
