This hotel cost about the same as every other hotel we stayed in during our Peru trip, but it wasn't even in the same category as the rest. ||||We found Pumamarca to be a disappointment from beginning to end. They were supposed to send a shuttle to get us at the airport, and of course there was nobody there for us (which was quite disappointing, as we were arriving in the dark!) Because of this, we overpaid for a taxi to get to the hotel. When the cab pulled over at the correct address, there was no indication that we were at Pumamarca, let alone at any kind of guesthouse. We walked in the door to the courtyard, were greeted by the staff and after several minutes of confusion about our reservation (not sure if they ever even looked at our reservation before that moment) they showed us to our room. We were on the 4th floor right next to the dining room, and we could see people's backpacks strewn all over the floor in that room (I assume people who went on treks and left their bags behind. Seemed unsecure, as I could have easily taken a bag or rifled through them-but obviously did not). The room was dirty, crammed with unnecessary furniture, and the trash can was full of toilet paper and trash from the previous people (which I found disgusting). The wifi didn't work half the time, the courtyard of the guesthouse was extremely noisy, and the noise from breakfast woke us up at 6am sharp. Not sure why the breakfast made so much noise to prepare either, because it was just stale bread and coffee. In general, not a pleasant experience, especially when compared to the rest of our experiences for a similar price while in Peru. ||||Would definitely NOT visit Pumamarca again. You can absolutely find better value for your money, don't let the price be an indication of...
