MAXX Hotel Makati — Hotel in Makati

Our bad experience started when we had to book at the front desk the day before we check in, instead of the customary online (which is cheaper) reservation. Agoda can't seem to access the payment facility linked to the hotel.||Because we intended to stay from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday we anticipated the usual food establishments are closed so we asked if there is a restaurant within the hotel. The front desk replied they have Luna cafe at the lobby which I was reassured would be enough for us to grab quick meals during our stay. Check in day and surprise, Luna Cafe was closed (see picture attached)||As it was hot that Thursday afternoon we immediately decided to check the pool. The picture does not reflect the actual size of the pool they have. It's a small jacuzzi-type bath where only a couple of people can sit comfortably into. Please stop advertising it as a pool! ||So we went down and had quick showers instead. The bathroom was poorly made that water collected and overflowed into the basin area because the trap is higher than the rest of the bathroom floor!||There is one housekeeper that seemed in charge of the whole facility and isn't too particular to how to clean our room. Good bed and pillows and blankets won't matter if the room is smelly from poor upkeep. ||For 2 days our sustenance came from wherever grab food can deliver. This hotel is really amazing place to stay. I booked this for 10 days and I got to know from manager its just soft opening and they will be full on in coming months. But truely I didnt feel any discomfort. The room are spacious, very comfortable bed and extremely clean. The room service is quick and the staff is superb. Within seconds I had my request taken care. The front desk have amazing friendly people ready to help you anytime. They have all toiletries provided in a kit for the bathroom (shower gel shampoo thoothbrush shaving gel ready shaver almost everything). Water bottles are provided evrey day and they also have a good coffee maker in room. The hotel has a nice sitting arrangement on the terrace and also a small jacuzzi on the roof deck.
