El Centro resort Boracay , White Sand Beach, Station 2, has a long history ! Weâre now in 2024 and I first stayed at El Centro in April 1994 ! Thatâs soon going to be 30 years. Back then it was just a few native bamboo made cottages in an area where there were no other resorts around. It was a time where Boracay was pretty much a virgin island though it was slowly gaining popularity. El Centro grew and changed a lot throughout the years. Today itâs operated by the first staff that were employed there as young teens to clean up the bungalows. Tita Rosa passed away last 2022 and can be proud to have built such a solid business with very dedicated staff. During the pandemic when absolutely every resort was closed , El Centro stayed open and though it wasnât operating most of the time, all the staff were retained, paid and given accommodation and foods. I remember we visited El Centro as soon as the Iloilo lockdown was relaxed and we were allowed to drive around Panay with some permits. Staffs were happy to see our old faces and happy to meet people too. We sponsored a nice meal for everyone so it would change from their routine food. For 30 years we have consistently returned to El Centro. For a business , we are a dream come true customer! So why ? Well, itâs very easy: we are simple yet demanding people. By demanding I mean we like to be taken cared of the way family relatives take care of each other in Iloilo. This is a family resort. The accommodation is simple and yet very clean. The rooms are spacious and can accommodate 4 up to 8 people for sleeping with ample space to move. Each room has a full size refrigerator, a phone, a decent WiFi, a simple yet also very clean bathroom with hot shower. Far away are the times of electric fans only rooms! Hahaha. Also, thereâs 24/7 electricity guaranteed because El Centro has their own huge generator. If you look for a simple and affordable resort on the white sand beach, with also very good and cheap ilongo foods, then El Centro is for you ! You can spend as little as 40USD a night in low season with breakfast for 2 and up to a lot more during high seasons. Call the resort to get the details so you can plan your trip in advance and choose the season matching your budget ! The hotel restaurant is not fancy . Itâs home cooked type of food, mostly ilongo inspired dishes , but also some international cuisine. Their French fries are fantastics ! Their little burger is cute and the recipe hasnât changed for as long as I can remember. On this area of the white sand beach , at station 2, you wonât find anything this affordable, clean, safe, feel-like-home, right-on-the-beach, kind of resort ! Itâs also super easy to access since itâs very close to the access road. Just mind that accommodation isnât fancy, but, simple and super clean. Some rooms have windows while others have a balcony with no view. So basically now, this is just a room to sleep. And there you will sleep well since it is usually very quiet. You have the benefits of being right on the beach front and yet you have a very well sound proof room . 30 years and we did try a few other resorts. Others are way more expensive and do feel like hotel chains. El Centro feels at home , a simple ilongo home that happens to be right on one of the best white sand shore in the world !    Read moreUpon arrival, they give you a free drink which is nice cause it's really hot and you have to walk a couple of miles to get here. So yeah, while the location is nice, nice, not excellent, you'll have to walk because the private car you rented cannot take you directly to the hotel. Bummer. Location is alright, it's right by the beach. I booked this because I thought there was going to be an area to chill and overlook the palm trees and the beach on the 2nd floor. But nope. The main access is on the side. Even the restaurant is on the side so you dont get a view of the beach when lounging or having meals. ||||The rooms are basic. Small tv. Small Ref. Ok bed. Ok CR, no hot water. Nothing fancy. Spacious. Balcony is only for drying clothes cause it's hot with all the exhaust and it stinks there.||||They're strict in not letting you bring food or drinks in the room. The ants, they say. You can bring food and drinks in the restaurant without corkage though.||||Managed buffet in the morning is not filling nor does it make one happy. Lol. 2 dish plus egg plus garlic rice. Ordered food and it's alright. The fish is fresh. Veggies are alright.||||Staff are mostly friendly and nice.||||They won't let you extend your stay for an hour for free. Even when the hotel is not fully booked, even when there's just 21 (sabi ng server) occupants in the entire hotel. I tried asking because I was going to be picked up at 1pm. Check out is 12nn. It will be an additional 500peso I was no longer willing to shell out. Lol.||||While it was not bad, it was not good for me. Stayed for 4 nights. Don't think I will stay here again. Didn't really enjoy anything offered by the hotel, not its location and there's...
Read moreExceedingly smooth check in yesterday and I am very pleased. Nothing extravagant yet they exceeded the basics. Mac-Mac our front desk officer has warmly welcomed us with a smile, a smoothie and discussed the resort and island information to guide us throughout our stay. Which in my opinion she has done splendidly. Booked for the family room. Space wise, a complete decent half bath (cold or hot shower), salon quality blow dryer, shampoo, body wash, hand wash all in an individual conveniently clean pump bottles. Clean Lavatory with wall mounted Mirror, Clean Toilet with Bidet. Decent clean bed sheets, pillows and comfortable soft foam bed. Rollaway beds are as comfortable as the main beds. Electric heating kettle, cups and glassware are available inside the room. Clean fridge maybe about 3 feet in height intended for your beverages. Clean excellent quality wall mounted flat screen tv with a good cable service and an excellent quality industrial stand fan. Reliable air conditioning unit. Quality luggage table in perfect height that will not strain your back while unpacking. Clean mirror slide door for the spacious closet. Allow me to reiterate their commendable cleanliness and orderliness. Arrived in the room with everything in place in other words complete no fuss. For a budget hotel in Boracay this is my first time to be pleased with a stress-free environment. Indeed a job well done guys! Keep it up El Centro Station 2!
