I had an emotional and unforgettable experience at Cha Spa after choosing their 110-minute Herbal Hilot massage.
Having grown up in Aklan and traveled across many parts of the world, I didnโt expect a massage to transport me back to my childhood โ but this one did. The skilled hands of Jenelyn, my masseuse from Banga, reminded me of how my grandmother used to pisil-pisil (squeeze repeatedly) my aching muscles whenever I had a balda or sprain. The way she wiped down my arms and legs echoed how my grandma used to sibin (wipe up one's body with a wet towel instead of taking a shower, since hot showers donโt exist much in the province) me up on cold days โ caring, intentional, and full of warmth.
I had to compliment Jenelyn afterward โ her touch was skillful, her presence grounded, and her work masterful. This wasnโt just a massage. It was a healing artform that reconnected me to my roots and lit up my soul.
If youโre looking for an experience that goes beyond relaxation and into something truly authentic and meaningful, I wholeheartedly recommend Cha Spaโs...
ย ย ย Read moreI came back here twice during my stay after a few street side massages. As an Aussie local and a 5'11" build.. I decided that it is in fact 1000% underrated to have a private room (not a curtained cubicle where everyone can see and hear everything) and a massage table big enough that your entire body fits on it appropriately. In my opinion, the extra money you spend is well worth it to feel comfortable and fully relax..particularly given massages should be a relaxing activity! The lovely ladies who did my massage were divine - caring, professional and good at their craft. All massages are combination thai, sweedish..and something else I can't remember (apologies) but heat is used to relax the muscles. 10/10...
ย ย ย Read moreI did it at another Cha Spa, just a few hundred meters next to this one, which I think is owned by an owner, but I couldn't find the location for me to rate. Really bad experience, asked to change slippers but did not wash the feet. There was a long wait but no tea was offered. It was a Romanesque Spa, and the masseur put his whole body on my head, which was very uncomfortable. They also asked for payment before the massage, and only cash, but they didn't give me any receipts, reasonable suspicion to evade taxes. I was also asked to tip after the massage, which I did reluctantly and felt really bad about. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, neither the service nor the massage is comparable...
