On a budget? Just needing the basics? This place makes the cut. No, it does not look great. The photos they have come from a time long gone. But it gives you what you need. Stayed in their mixed dorm and the mattresses on the bunk beds are comfy, the AC gets really cold, and the bed curtains do a great job blocking out light. Wifi is fastest in the small sofa at the stairway. There is no elevator, which does wonders when you're trying to walk off a hangover, the water pressure at the common showers and toilets are barely enough, and I had to sweep the dorm room, twice, because the multitudes of staff barely did anything. The location is perfect if you plan to walk or travel around the island itself, trikes pass a few steps out, and both white beach and bulabog beach are equally distant from it. it's quite literally dead center of the island. There are gyms, canteens, grocers, and water stations nearby so it really is the perfect spot for backpacking and travelling on a budget. Just set your expectations really, really low. Primary complaint tho is that they don't give drinking water. A water dispenser as compliments would have been highly appreciated. Will I book here again? Definitely. Will I start singing praises? Doubt it, but I hope they do fix up...
Read moreWe booked a family room for 7 people at this hostel, but when we arrived, we were disappointed to be given a room with 4 bunk beds and a transparent sliding door, which seemed meant for solo travelers. We didn’t say anything at first, but on the 2nd day, we found out that the door wouldn’t lock. When we asked an attendant to help, he was surprised and asked who put us in that room, saying we were supposed to be in a family room without a transparent door.Since we were in a hurry, we told him we would deal with it after our trip. When we got back, we spoke to the attendant who originally checked us in. Instead of apologizing, he said the family rooms were sold out, so he put us in any available room without telling us. When we asked if we could move to a different room, he refused.Luckily, a female attendant stepped in and said she would arrange for us to move to another room, which she would have cleaned right away. We appreciated her help, but to avoid more stress, we decided to stay in the room we were given. However, we feel it’s important to mention the rude behavior from the male attendant, which...
Read moreThe building looks like it's either very old or not finished yet. Probably a bit of both. It seems in the pictures that it has seen better days. Irl, the rooftop (there's nothing but rubish up there) seems like it has seen too many typhoon seasons. No elevator, dorms on the 4th floor. The dorm room is too small, and AC very strong. I was freezing at night, and asked them to increase the temperature. They just told me to wait, and didn't do anything about it. The showers and toilets are all moldy and broken, water runs free, so sometimes it runs out of water. There's no cleaning going on whatsoever. Everything is dirty, full of sand and moldy. No water dispenser. You could say that it's okay because it's the cheapest on Boracay, but honestly it's not even worth the money. I don't know what they do with it. Not cleaning, for sure. It's too expensive for the service. Not easy to find, no sign outside the residence gate. The only good thing is the location near the lake. The morning staff sleep on a bench at the reception quite late (and VERY deeply) so hard to ask him anything. You'll certainly find a...
