My cousins picked out White House Beach Resort as it is a family-owned, good value, beachfront hotel located in Station 1. This particular property serves a predominantly Filipino clientele very well. I think for foreigners this would be considered pretty middle of the road in terms of amenities and quality of service.||Pros:|1. Good value. We got newly renovated large bedrooms on the second floor. While they were not ocean view rooms, each room had large balconies, the rooms, beds and bathrooms were clean, well equipped with a mini fridge, hair dryer, drinking water and decor was modern.|2. Location: This property is easy to navigate. I liked the ease of catching a tricycle to areas around the island and the beach is also literally in front of the hotel and steps away. I loved swimming at the beach in front at sunset going into twilight. It's also an easy 10 minute walk to D'Mall and 5 minute walk to Willy's Rock.|3. Fun vibe: We came Thurs-Sun and the hotel had a great DJ Thurs/Fri/Sat nights. Their beachfront restaurant serves as a fun place to drink, dance, eat or listen to music. Very young, cute, stylish millenials surrounded us. |4. Free breakbast was included. The first morning we were able to order from a bigger menu but on the weekend it was buffet only. The free drink at check-in was refreshing and a lovely touch.|5. My cousins ran into multiple friends who happened to be visiting and staying in the same hotel. Like I said, I think this is a locals spot. I also like that the property is family owned (support local).||Cons:|1. Service was so so (good in some areas, not good in others). We read that WHBR has a van that can pick guests up from Boracay port but when we called, we were told they had no driver. Not a great start to the visit. (But they did take us to the port the day we left.)|2. Privacy. We put DND signs in the room and housekeeping still came in and did turn down service. They also left my balcony door unlocked. Not cool.|3. Pool: More of a dipping pool than a swimming pool. Photos are deceiving. |4. During lumot (algae) season, you are in the thick of it at the beach. Think 5ft wide from the shore at times.||Overall WHBR is a good choice if you are looking for a large room, affordable place to stay with free breakfast in station 1. Is it the most amazing place? Nope but the property is cute and makes up for it in other ways like the fun guests and cool, local, fun vibes they provide....
Read moreI have never stayed in station 1 before but I scanned through some properties and picked the White House because of location, price and reviews. ||This place is small compared to the big chain resorts. It is cozy and somewhat secluded. The rooms are nice and quite big. The exterior is very rustic like an older house. We had a queen bed and a single bed which was perfect. They don’t use key cards but actual keys which was a pleasant surprise. Reminds me of the good old days. The bathrooms are decent size and very comfortable. We had a balcony (2nd floor) but I think all rooms have a balcony/sitting area which was a very good addition. ||The proximity to the beach was very close and it was awesome. Literally steps from the property and the views are priceless. I can enjoy the lounge chairs by the beach and do nothing but stare in to the ocean, very relaxing. It’s is easy access to other properties next door. They have a pool and bar near the beach and you can relax order food and have a couple of drinks. They have great happy hour selections. ||Food - I never really got a chance to eat at the restaurant. Hopeful next time. ||Staff is very attentive and super nice. Everyone was very courteous and accommodating. I feel very safe at this property. ||The White House may be my new go to place in Boracay, especially in station 1. If you want peace and quiet then consider this place. Just a warning - this place is far from station 2 if you want to party, it’s a great way to burn calories but it tired me out after a couple of times but not to worry just take an ETrike by the main road. My 12 year old son loved this place so it’s perfect for kids. I just love the location of this place. Price point is very good. I really think that everyone will enjoy this place.||Thank you White House for the...
Read moreWhite House Beach is the perfect epitomy of paradise at your utmost comfort.||I had many things to say about this establishment that surely most guest can agree. Of course, there's no perfect hotel and they are not excused to this. So i will list down what I liked and did not like about them:||1. It's located by the road. So, if you prefer to DIY, it is easy to access the hotel. ||2. They gave us complimentary drinks. This is a plus for me because I have never experienced that. It's heart-warming.||3. We stayed at the first floor (Deluxe). The room was wide! It has all the amenities like water, coffee. It also has a mini ref. It has 32-inch tv, and a spacious bathroom (shower) with a blower.||4. Our room was just, like, 50 steps away from the white sand beach. So it's PERFECT. You can literally walk a short distance and feel the powdery white sand and blue crystal waters.||5. The staff was the FRIENDLIEST. I didn't get the chance to know the Front Offices' name but they we both awesome and made our stay so much easier. Even the housekeepers and other staff was so kind to greet us every time we passed by. I hope they get a good pay for being this nice lol.||6. We had a complimentary van transfer! Wooohooo!! Highlight of the event!!! Made me cry to actually felt like royalty.||Things I did not like:||1. Dated rooms. I wish they would upgrade the interiors of the room. There we like rusts on the walls, which was not obvious if you're far but it's pretty visible up close.||2. Small swimming pool. I'm personally an introvert so seeing people pass by literally every 20 seconds makes me anxious and just opt to swim at the beach.||I hope this one helps people who are undecided to book this fantastic resort. This might be $$$ (in my budget) but its definitely worth it. :) I love...
