We stayed at Sur Boracay last February. I am travelling with my husband and our 4-year-old son. This is the first time that we are staying in Station 1 as we always stay in Station 2. ||||Location - the location is perfect! It's right next to a lot of more expensive resorts, it's beachfront with a good number of beach beds. The entrance is right on the road, so it's the perfect location, very convenient. This is also right next to Two Seasons so if you want to try their famous pizza and sisig, it's very convenient.||||Rooms - well it really depends on where you will be assigned and the type of room you booked. On our day 1, our room is on the third floor. This is a bit of a challenge for us because we hate going up and down the stairs and we are travelling with a kid. The room has no balcony, but they provided a clothes rack where we can hang out wet clothes but it is indoor, it's okay but not very ideal. We tried our luck and asked if we can be transferred to a room at a lower level and guess what? They moved us to a room closest to the restaurant and on the ground floor, we can literally see the beach from our door. This is the best room and we even have a sitting area outside and a clothes rack. Room is on the simple side but the bed is great and the room is very functional. I love the laundry basket in every room.||||Food - Breakfast is simple but very filling and delicious. I love the coffee! We enjoyed happy hour (2pm-10pm?) and the inhouse resto is good as well. We tried mostly the Filipino food and they are very satisfying specially the binagoongan. ||||Customer Service - Top Notch! we love the staff from front desk to dining they are very accommodating and friendly.||||Price - possibly the cheapest within that area of station 1, but definitely best value! ||||We will definitely be back if we are in the mood for a more quiet and chill vacation. We go to Boracay usually 2-3 times every year so hopefully we will definitely stay here again.||||We loved our stay so much we find it hard to check out. On our last day while waiting for our airport pick up, we just decided to book another flight going home later that week and extend our stay at Sur Boracay for...

we are regular guests here from 2016 to 2018. but even we dont stay here anymore, this is our go to place for happy hour during sunset every time we are on the island. even thier staff always recognize us everytime we went back.

we we back again just this last May 16 and of course we were there again for the food and drinks. all went smooth but on the next night, when we went back again to eat and drink, there is 1 dish that made 3 of us sick (we are sure that this food is the reason since the three of us only ate that food).

me, my brother and his wife had a bad stomach the next day, and on that afternoon got chills and high fever. my wife contacted them for what happened on their page and told my wife what help they can give. my wife just told them that we will update them if we needed assistance if we are needed to be brought to the hospital. the next day, even with some lbm meds and fever meds, the situation become worst so we decided to go to the hospital. my wife started contacting them since they told us that they will help us but they only seen our messages. we just still went to the nearest hospital and ended up at MedExpress. we were treated as soon as were there. we are already dehydrated due to the food that we ate.

the next day, my mom and wife went here to ask for some updates and told them that the person in charge is still not around and told them that they will contact them as soon as he/she arrives. no one contacted the whole day.

the next morning, since i can already stand and go out, me and my wife went back to get some updates and again they told us that the person in charge is on rest day but left a message that we need to give them a medical certificate that indicates that their sisig is the cause of our sickness. how can a medical certificate indicate that the sisig is the cause of our sickness??????? how????

they cant even give us someone to talk to address our complain. no one even manager, the highest person that we can talk to right that time is the receptionist. 😀 and she even know what to do.

anyway, i hope no one in your family experience this, especially the guests...

Warning: Got SCAMMED by front desk After reading some comments I realized they do random blame some guest for stained towels from coconut...same as what happened to us. The exact reason its bizzare but its not random hut its more for 1300 pesos they get. Caution it may nit happen to all but those who get the blame randomly always remembers and post it in review to warn others who will get the "coconut stained" random towel. Pls read otjer review.

The hotel has very good location station 1 beach front. The room is outdated. Once we arrived upon check in sept. 25 we notice The locks in the bedroom and bathroom windows were broken so we asked them to fix it because The rooms were situated on the groundfloor convenietly near the back of the hotel. Gladly they fixed it. Upon check out today september 28 the front desk staff asked me to pay 1100 pesos for a beach towel according to her it came from our room yesterday housekeeping and there was stain on the beach towel which laundry treatment can not be cleaned. what I find it odd is that the beach towel we have donot have any stain because it was just used for the beach the hotel front desk said maybe it was coconut juice or oil spilled on the towel I told her we didnt use any. I find it odd that they blamed it on us for a stained beach towel. I would know if there was a stain and the weird thing is they mentioned it upon check out since we know we were rushing. ..I paid the beach towel because I dont want to argue and waste my time but for those who want to stay here please be careful with such modus tactic very third world style of hotel hospitality. Foreigners beware better stay away since if they know you have money or à tourist from other country they will check your room prior to check out which I find it very old school no other hotel we stayed did that its very old school what damage can we do to a room the property is already old. Mind you we gave staff tip for there service as a sign of gratitude but still we were treated poorly in the end.

Ergo, please go to other hotels. I WILL BOOK MY NEXT HOTEL IN BORACAY OTHER...

The Good: Housekeeping- Probably the highlight of their good customer service. The first thing I thought is to give these hardworking people 5 star. Because they're courteous, friendly and have sense of urgency. Beach Front- they share with other resorts in station 1 of having one of the best beachfront shoreline and you'll enjoy swimming whole day. Shower- Water is strong in all areas. Bathroom and near the pathways. Buffet- eat all you can breakfast. Ambiance- great place to hangout and with classy native feel. The Bad: Wifi- so weak and inconsistent that you'd be forced to use data instead. Front desk staff- though they're friendly and courteous but I didn't get the replacement or new wifi voucher after calling and asking them twice. The extra bed came late together with the extra towel. Again, because the frontdesk either don't pay attention or lacks focus. They're just good in welcoming you basically. Foods- breakfast buffet has limited choices, redundant and salty to my taste. Maybe hotels in Cebu spoiled me of their versions of buffet. But don't expect too much. It's just a good to have, okay part of your hotel experience. Schedule- we arrived in the morning and we had to wait for the check-in time which is 2pm. Understandable and fair policy same with the rest. We decided to walk around other places near-by and came back 2pm+ expecting that the room is ready with the extra bed and towel. None of those were done while we're away. Between the time we arrived and the check-in time nothing was done. They just told us to wait few more minutes. After that, when we're finally in the room the extra bed was still not in there yet and still with no extra towel. Very disappointed. Again lacks focus and coordination. In conclusion, Sur is good for one time experience and you have to probably go and try the others on your next visit to Boracay. It's definitely not your favorite place to go back again and again. Unless if you're on a budget and wants to have a decent place for your accommodation.

Five-star hospitality that won't break the bank. It's my first time staying at Sur. I was looking for a trusted hotel in Station 1 that didn't cost and arm and a leg, and Sur was the perfect choice. The staff, from the doorman to the front desk to the servers at the bar, were all warm and very accommodating throughout the almost 5 days we spent in the island. They were quick to attend to our needs and always greeted and talked to us with a smile. This was especially impressive given we weren't at a 5-star hotel. The location was priceless, right in Station 1 where there were always fewer people on the beach and (in ny opinion) where most of the better restaurants are. Sur had the beachfront access we had wanted. Another thing I really commend is their happy hour. Aside from their relatively affordable drinks, Sur's happy hour started from 1pm and extended until 10pm. Best experienced at one of their coveted beachfront cabanas, of course, while enjoying a plate of their sizzing sisig! And while breakfast was expectedly just okay, it wasn't bad. Even when it was the lean season, they changed things up every morning, offering tocino, adobo, pancit, and sausages alternately. While the rooms were decent, their housekeeping staff were very attentive. I suggest requesting for a room in Building D. While it was farthest from the beach, the interiors seem newer and felt more expensive than the those closer to the beach. Best choice for Station 1 if you're on a budget but still want comfort and excellent service.

Not recommended for the following: 1) customer service- staff in charged of the beach towel accused our group of stain after return. First, no advise or proof that when he handed to us its clean, next they said its a buko juice stain which used by 2 people who did not drink buko juice. Second, towels were used just to dry up and placed in their own chair, first time ever we encounter for a hotel to do this on customers for a beach towel. In the coming days after the person in the picture is giving comments after my friend told her that the next towel given to us has stain, saying its ok since its not new. Haha! What a joke right? also next 3 days of giving us that look every time we are on the cabana. What a nice customer service for a hotel guests! Definitely worst ever! 2) old rooms and facilities- not worth the price! Good thing we got it on promo. 3) breakfast buffet- ok but not something to look forward to! 4) We requested to clean our room! Which you need to do since they will not to it proactively. Guess what? they dust the floor made the bed but did not clean the bathroom, did not provide tissue and did not give new towels. We then complain to frontdesk and thats the only time they clean the bathroom but yes gave us tissue still on the plastic wrapper without putting in the holder inside the cr ( mind you its empty) We’ve been to Ambassador, Estacio Uno and Movenpick just this year and they have the best staff nothing compares to Sur Beach! This is not recommended and worst staff ever!
