Things got off to a bad start. There's no signage for the apartment and when I tried ringing the bell there was no response. Turned out Maria the owner was waiting for a phone call - though I'd confirmed my arrival time by email the day before! So MAKE SURE YOU PHONE MARIA WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN LISBON!! Anyway once she had arrived I was very impressed with her welcome and her kindness. The apartment was spotless, excellent bathroom, and kitchen available to make drinks and meals. Unfortunately my room was very hot and stuffy despite provision of fan. In fairness the weather was/had been very hot but if you want a good night's sleep, better to stay outside the summer months. Apartment very conveniently placed close to Saldanha metro(direct line from airport) and lots of nice shops/restaurants nearby; a brisk 40 minute walk to central Rossio/Baixa areas. I would certainly recommend it but maybe outside the height of summer. And don't be put off by lack of signage, Just ring Maria when you arrive...
Read moreThis is a great place to stay, if you want a more familiar place: Located in a nice quiet local neighbourhood which is away from the main tourist stream but with good infrastructure (a supermarket, a pedestrial zone with a bakery, restaurants and a phantastic café, a direct bus to the town centre), this is a great alternative to the busy town centre. It is super quiet and there are 2 elevators. The host has all kinds of information available, there is a TV room and a dinning room. The location is great, it is outside the party and 10-15 min to the airport. The metro is a 5 min walk or you can take a taxi for 6 euro...
