I am rating it two stars out of respect for their long tradition, but it’s not worthy more than one. Food is average, the vibe of the place is bad and the waiter is rude and rushed, making an unpleasant atmosphere. We were a table of 4, all had the same impression of the food: no special taste as it has no spices, not even salt (you get the salt separately, with oil and vinegar to spice it yourself), undercooked out of rush and served with no fresh veggies (my picanha was served with rice AND fries, I had to order separately a fresh salad). The waiter is running around like a headless chicken, trying to serve everything as fast as possible so you get out fast and get a new customer in. He is inattentive and rude. Out of rush he spilled a glass of wine on one of my friends and instead of apologising he raised his voice at him, pointing angrily with his finger on the table “aqui?! Aqui?!” like “is this where you put your glass??”. But it was on the table, where else should a guest keep their glass of wine, on their lap? And then a scarf fell on the floor and he picked it up angrily and scolded us that the scarf is on his way. I mean, we were not expecting to have a Michelin star experience, but the bare minimum of courtesy goes a long way. Plus that the people waiting outside were randomly invited inside, not in the waiting order. Instead of bringing an extra chair for a group of 3, they just invited two people and not the first 3 waiting in line. If you find yourself there and have to wait in front of the place - don’t. It’s not worthy.

The place itself is small but cozy. Simple but nice and clean. If you're planning to visit I advise you to either go early or book a table. I went there with a group of 8 around 19:30 and while when we got there there were plenty of free tables the restaurant filled up before we finished our dinner and the waiter had to turn customers away. We had garlic prawns for starters and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone loved it. Even a friend of mine whos not really into sea food so I definitely recommend it. For the main course 3 of us had grilled squid while the others had grilled octopus, tuna steak, tuna salad, grilled salmon and steak with coffee and cream sauce. All of the dishes looked really nice and most were delicious with the exception of the squid. One of my friends found a piece of the spine of it still in which isn't the end of the world but still shouldn't happen. It would have been easier to overlook it if the meal would have been tasty but it was rather bland and a bit rubbery. If I had eaten alone and would only judge by the squid I would not recommend the place despite the excellent prawns but all the other meals matched the quality of our starters. The portion sizes were generous and the prices are very reasonable. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Overall we had a good time and I think it was worth visiting.

🌟 Tao's Google Restaurant Reviews 🌟 I have been to this restaurant twice, when you're apart. I really try to like this restaurant, but the food was not exactly five stars. The mixed fish butter and the octopus would be the main things that I would recommend getting from this restaurant. The restaurant excels at grilling its seafood and flavouring with a bit of salt and olive oil, letting the fish bring out its own flavour. However, they do not season the fish much, so it may end up tasting a bit plain if that's not your style. The octopus is very soft and chewy, so if you have to get anything, I would highly recommend that. We also got some bread and tomato salad. The bread was cold and they did not have a toaster. The tomato salad was just a few slices of salad and lettuce, I don't really worth it to the edge. I would just skip it and make some salad at home. Service was good, server is a machine. 🍲Food: 3.5 🧑‍🍳Service: 4 🍴Atmosphere: 4 FINAL SCORE 3.5/5

This is a proper, down to earth, locals restaurant. The décor of the restaurant is basic but clean. The hosts are polite, with just enough English to make ordering easy. This place is all about the food. We had the garlic prawns to start. These were to die for. I would guess around 20 prawns (only €8....insane), very juicy and sweet is a lovely buttery sauce with chopped garlic. The amount of garlic was just perfect, just enough for a good garlic hit without taking your face off. The sauce was light and not overly oily. We hungrily mopped it up with some bread rolls. For mains we had the grilled Salmon and the mixed grill. The Salmon was the best dish we had in Lisbon. It was served simply with fresh chips and a little side salad. The piece of fish was quite large and grilled to perfection. It was so fresh and delicious. The mixed grill was very good too, it had a piece of chicken, a thin cut steak, a piece of pork and some sort of local sausage which had a great pink colour. All tasted great. Its impressive how they can cook such a thin piece of steak but yet keep it pink in the middle and moist. We also had 3 beers and 2 espressos. The bill came to a €35 which for all that food was great value. I will absolutely go back to this restaurant when I return. If you are looking for delicious, fresh local food with no airs or graces, this is the place to go. I...
