Attention Rip off!!
I studied for one semester in Lisbon and booked a room with Maria. At the beginning a price was negotiated by email, which was to be paid every month. After the 1st month the price was increased, wrong calculations were made and wrong invoices were issued. Pressure was exerted to pay as soon as possible. When asked about the reason for the sudden price increase, the owner Maria became very rude and unruly. She threatened that she would immediately put me on the street if I did not stop asking. This unserious behavior and rip-off is actually a case for the police. I learned that the owner has also dealt with other guests in this way, who then immediately left the house.
Before booking, it was assured on request that the Wi-Fi was suitable for working. This was not the case. When a few people are on the Wi-Fi, the network always broke down. When asked if anything would change, Marie responded with a disrespectful and unprofessional email to all guests that the Wi-Fi was not suitable for working.
Maria has forbidden using the kitchen for large meals. It is only meant to make snacks or brew coffee. Accordingly, the equipment is very poor. The pans/pots/knives and the kitchen itself are all in very poor condition.
Over time, I have met several guests who, like me, have lived in the accommodation for several months. None of them will come back because of what happened. I cannot recommend these...

This is not a hotel but a youth hostel even if not described as such. I think its a youth hostel that would be suitable for older travelers because you get your own room, although you still need to share bathrooms and kitchen.
Its a beautiful building with a lot of charm. This problem is it has been renovated incredibly cheaply and all the furniture is very cheap and doesn't suit the building at all. A lot of the floors are carpeted with a thin industrial carpet similar to a hospital or some kind of institution. Likewise a lot of the electrical outlets run in plastic trunking around the walls, quite ugly and unsympathetic to the building. This all gives the feeling more of an institution/hospital than a palace.
The quality of the kitchen appliances is also quite low. You may also need to deal with dirty things in the sink occasionally. Picture is of some ants which kept appearing in the kitchen.
Despite all the criticism I met some nice people here and made good use of the 'work room' which has great internet and is a good place to work. It is also quite affordable...
Read moreThe famous 'booking' site hid my review so posting it here. I stayed in this hotel in the month of October 2019. Hotel staff is very co-operative and rooms/facilities are clean. However a thing that bothered me a lot which kind of ruined my entire experience of staying in Lisboa was the location of this hotel. Hotel is located next to a MORGUE. I saw a number of coffins being transported in and out of the morgue which happens to be adjacent to the hotel's main entrance. Talking to the locals I discovered that the long building next to the hotel is where they store dead bodies. While waiting for Uber outside the main entrance, I saw a disturbing scene where a mourning relative of a deceased person crying/yelling loudly right outside the hotel. If you're comfortable with such things then there is no problem with the hotel or...
