Located in the heart of the city, Bonjardim offers a delightful escape into a world of rich flavors, impeccable service, and a cozy atmosphere that makes it a go-to destination for food lovers. Known for its vibrant Portuguese cuisine, Bonjardim seamlessly blends traditional recipes with a modern twist, creating a dining experience that is both comforting and exciting.

Ambiance The moment you step into Bonjardim, you are greeted by a warm, welcoming ambiance. The rustic yet contemporary design, with its clean lines, wooden accents, and soft lighting, creates a relaxed, inviting environment. It’s perfect for both intimate dinners and casual get-togethers. Whether you're seated at a cozy corner table or at the bar, the vibe feels casual but sophisticated.

Service Service at Bonjardim is top-notch. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to recommend their signature dishes. They’re happy to walk you through wine pairings and seem genuinely invested in ensuring you have a fantastic experience from start to finish.

Food Bonjardim shines brightest with its food. The menu offers a range of delicious options that highlight the best of Portuguese gastronomy. Highlights include:

Frango Assado (Roast Chicken): This signature dish is a must-try. The chicken is perfectly roasted, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, served with a side of spicy, tangy sauce that elevates the flavors. Bacalhau Ć  BrĆ”s: A traditional Portuguese dish made with salted cod, eggs, and crispy fries, all cooked together in a savory mix. Bonjardim’s take on this classic is simply divine, with the cod perfectly balanced by the eggs and fries, resulting in a rich and satisfying bite. Prego no PĆ£o: A Portuguese-style steak sandwich that’s both hearty and flavorful, served on a fresh bun with a spicy sauce that adds a nice kick. The portions are generous, and each dish feels like it’s made with care and attention to detail. The seafood, too, is outstanding, with fresh and flavorful dishes that bring the taste of Portugal's coastal regions to life.

Drinks The wine list at Bonjardim features a curated selection of Portuguese wines, from bold reds to crisp whites, ensuring there's something for every palate. Their cocktails are also worth noting, with expertly crafted drinks that reflect both creativity and quality ingredients.

Overall Experience Bonjardim is a wonderful restaurant that manages to maintain a balance between the authentic flavors of Portugal and a modern dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of Portuguese food or new to the cuisine, you’ll find something to love here. With its excellent service, flavorful dishes, and inviting atmosphere, Bonjardim is a gem that’s well worth a visit.

Highly recommended for a memorable meal that feels both...

A Culinary Gem with Regrettable Service

Rating: ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜…ā˜†

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bonjardim, a restaurant renowned for its exquisite fried chicken. The restaurant's culinary offerings are indeed a delight for the taste buds, and I can't praise the chicken enough. However, the same cannot be said for the service, and that's a real shame.

The standout feature of Bonjardim is, without a doubt, its succulent fried chicken. The crispy exterior, perfectly seasoned with a tantalizing blend of spices, encases tender and juicy meat that practically melts in your mouth. The flavors are exquisite, and the chicken alone is worth the visit.

But here's the rub – the service at Bonjardim leaves much to be desired. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I encountered a rather unpleasant encounter with the waiter. When I attempted to place my order for a half-chicken, he almost yelled at me, insisting that this portion was meant for just one person. This rather brash attitude was disconcerting and far from the warm and welcoming atmosphere one expects at such a renowned establishment.

The most glaring mishap, however, occurred when the waiter brought our plates to the table. Rather than gently setting them down, he carelessly tossed them onto the table. The clattering plates were an unwelcome and shocking interruption to our otherwise enjoyable meal. This type of service is inexcusable, especially for a restaurant of Bonjardim's reputation.

While the exceptional fried chicken may keep locals coming back, the lackluster service, as I experienced it, might deter potential returning customers. For foreign visitors, in particular, the service could be a deciding factor in choosing alternative dining options in the city. Bonjardim should take note that exceptional food alone is not enough to maintain a stellar reputation; exceptional service is equally critical.

In conclusion, Bonjardim delivers some of the finest fried chicken you'll ever taste, but the regrettable service we encountered left a sour note in an otherwise delightful dining experience.

Hopefully, the restaurant will address these service issues, ensuring that all guests can fully savor the culinary treasures it...

I usually don’t write reviews, but today I feel compelled to share my experience because of how poorly we were treated.

Today, I visited Bonjardim with my family for the first time to try their famous Piri Piri chicken. We arrived around 4 PM, and at that time, the restaurant was not very busy. An older waiter approached us but didn’t even greet us—he just pointed to a free table. I assumed it might be due to a language barrier, which wasn’t a big deal at first, so I didn’t think too much of it.

However, as our visit went on, my feelings changed significantly. The way this waiter treated us was completely unacceptable. He cleaned the table and set it up, which was fine, but then he started slamming each glass and plate onto the table. This behavior continued when he served the food—he literally dropped the dishes in front of us with no care at all. This is not how you treat guests, and he clearly lacks proper hospitality training.

I understand that people can have a bad day, and with the high number of tourists, it can get stressful. However, this behavior cannot be excused as just stress (as only 3 tables were occupied at that time). After reading other customer reviews, I can see that I am not alone in this experience. It seems this older waiter consistently has a passive-aggressive attitude towards guests.

As for the food, the Brazilian rice and chicken were okay, but definitely not worth the hype—especially considering how we were treated.

To top it all off, when it came time to pay, the waiter insisted that service was not included in the bill. Honestly, this ā€œserviceā€ was an insult to customers, and it’s clear that he’s in the wrong profession. Throughout the entire meal, he gave off nothing but bad vibes, making us feel completely unwelcome.

No matter how good the food is or how popular the place is on social media, bad service can ruin everything. Such a shame. Itā€˜s...
