I really liked the POSTCODE concept: Eliminate all the non-essential hotel amenities (e.g., restaurant) and just provide a nice building of flats with self check-in online. We had a basic room on the first floor, facing the street. Other posts have mentioned street noise, but I found the building envelope did a good job of insulating sound. Didn’t hear any disturbances from above, but could hear noise (e.g., baby crying) from the same floor. I liked that the bathroom was completely separate from the rest of the space. Actually found the shower to be really good, and if you are a fan of robust water pressure you will not be disappointed. I found the bed to be OK but not great. AC is provided by a standard mini-split unit, which was adequate. Some of the things I didn’t like were related to the “tech”. You are given two ways to unlock doors: live via a doohickey on a webpage or a 6-digit numeric code sent to you. On arrival the webpage didn’t work for our room as our connectivity to the internet was poor inside the building. (There is also supposed unlocking of elevators shown on the website but I believe that wasn’t necessary in reality, and I would recommend abandoning the idea altogether as it makes things too complex.) I also think they sent out too many emails: After the initial reservation confirmation I received 7 POSTCODE mailings leading up to the stay. Interestingly, there were no emails post stay. Had there been one, I would have let them know that the filters in the mini split in 105 need to be cleaned, and it would be nice if the AC remote were set for the time/date so I could utilize it’s automatic off features...
Read moreRoom was lovely, quiet, spacious comfortable bed, dining table with chairs, small lounge for relaxing, spacious bathroom - all clean and fairly new. Full kitchen with spacious fridge - and small pack with some essential items was also provided. Parking available on site (extra cost) but access is tight so would not try it with a large car! It is located about 2 blocks away from one of the main streets - with access to buses, metro and taxis. There is a lovely bakery across the road (Jesus) and if you walk down the street there a few smaller, local authentic restaurants/bars - we had some great meals in 2 places here both within walking distance. There is also a supermarket next door. Vivianne at reception was friendly and very helpful - giving advice on transport etc - her help was much...
